News floating around about Zizic signing with a Turkish team (coached by David Blatt)
I don't know if this is finalized or just rumored.

Not just rumors. His team, KK Cibona, confirmed the negotiations between the two teams. It will be interesting to see how this will affect him joining the team next year.
Reportedly it's a record transfer fee worth 1,5 million euros. If you ask me, it doesn't seem like he will be joining our team anytime soon.

There are very solid rumors that he will go to Darüşşafaka, Turkish team coached by Blatt and competing in Euroleague & Turkish League. Deal is not yet finalized. They have players like Brad Wanamaker, James Anderson, Will Clyburn, Furkan Aldemir, Semih Erden. They are currently at 7th place in top Euroleague competition with a 8-6 record. Daçka*'s season will end in June.

*Nickname for Darüşşafaka.

Seems like it's a done deal:
Quote
Aco Petrovic resigned from his position in @kk_cibona because the club decided to sell Ante Zizic. The prospect is headed to @dackadogus - @Sportando

Sounds like they just moved his contract, so he should still be able to come next season.   The step up in competition is big.  Should make a nice progression to the NBA.  If he can keep up his domination he's going to be something special.

Depends what his buyout is to join the NBA.  It should be in the contract already.

Talked to my friend who is a basketball reporter for some European newspaper. He doesn't have the contract details. but he thinks that for the amount being paid Darussafaka would want some commitment for next season.
Just his opinion. I will follow up with him later.

Please share if you find out.  I expect they would want that as well.  Zizic staying overseas would save the Celtics between $800k-$1.6 million next season if he signed a letter for the team saying he'd stay in Europe for another year, more likely the smaller end of that range.

Zizic being locked in overseas for at least next season could be an indication we are adding a center to this team soon...*fingers crossed*

It's undeniable that we can compete when healthy. We need a few pieces and we can make a run this year to at least Eastern finals.

I'm curious if Abdel Nader will get a call up to help our outside shooting. I love this kids game...

Look at the last line from this article from October.
https://www.talkbasket.net/23142-ante-zizic-made-the-right-call-by-staying-in-europe.html
"No doubt Zizic will be more than ready with a another two seasons in Europe."
Does that mean another one year deal for Zeller?

Compared to other Euro big men that have had success in the NBA Zizic is putting up comparable and/or better numbers.  Also he's still only19.

Here's a short bio that shows his stats for this year and from last year.

Blatt has had a taste of the NBA and should be able to help develop him to play in the post.

I think he'll be on roster next season. Meets team need plus he's anxious to come to NBA. He wanted to play here this season.

Update:
David Pick
‏@IAmDPick
Cibona will retain rights for Ante Zizic in offseason, has manageable NBA out, wants to be in Boston ASAP. Darussafaka is huge for him.

Sounds like good news, glad to hear he'll play against advanced European competition.
