Brooklyn is now tied with Philly for the worst record. We have a 22.4% chance of getting the #1 and 60.1% for a top three pick.

The actual real Celtics have won four in a row and are sitting pretty, pretty good at 17-12.

There is no rest for the the weary fans, as Oklahoma is next tomorrow night.

Horford looks tired shooting and Marcus Smart is officially still embarrassing himself. I'll call it a toss-up leaning towards a Celtics win because of the recent gelling.

We seem to have enough solid depth to survive most bad games from any specific players. There is a new thread attacking Danny Ainge. I don't see what the problem is. Jaylen Brown was a great draft pick. He signed Horford. He was right about Isaiah Thomas. Brad has been provided with a lot of nice groceries from Danny. It's happy holidays.

It's good to see Jaylen Brown remaining in the rotation.

It's interesting to hear Brad Stevens barking out comments during the action. He can see where a player should move and just yells it out. He's cool about it. He's not Chris Ford yelling at Dino or PJ Carlesimo as hall of fame annoying coaches. Bill Fitch was a Pete Best coach for Larry Bird. K.C. Jones was Ringo.

Gerald Green is improving as a cheerleader. I noticed Young pouting.

Rozier is in a slump.

Brown might be more reliable than Rozier for a rotation piece.

Smart is reliable for what he does. He needs to be told nicely to improve his shooting or stop hogging shots.

Teague is the type of player who abuses Isaiah, but we all saw it was Isaiah Time.

It was good to see Amir Johnson step up to the plate.

Kelly Olynyk had a decent game based on his raw talent, but I wasn't too impressed. He is due a breakout game. Maybe with the back to back he'll play more. I don't know what Oklahoma has for bigs.

Maybe Jaylen Brown will get a chance to defend Westbrook. That would be interesting. But I'm not the coach.

I'd love to see this team shock the world this year personally.  We are probably a piece or two away  per usual outside of IT, but Horford has yet to really flex his muscle on the offensive end. Bradley has really stepped up this year.    I'm just happy we started to find Amir this last game.

Brown is more reliable than Rozier and should get all those minutes. Rozier is an out of control chucker. He's better when he lets the game come to him. When he forces it he's a hot mess. Brown impacts the game. He makes mistakes but he's hard to shoot over, a lot of guys Jaylen covers tend to miss. Jaylen is also a more willing passer than Rozier. The two stinker passes Rozier threw in The Pacers game should get him benched for a couple games at least. That was a real momentum killer and almost turned the tied of the game.

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my

The last future power rankings from Ford and Pelton had the Cs 3rd behind GS and CLE. Their weightings had 50% go to the player score, 16.7% to management, 16.7% to money, 8.3% to market and 8.3% to draft.

I haven't gone all the way through it to see how far off the other 2 our score was but we were at least a net equal to GS in the other categories and probably better than CLE. Where we fell down was the player rank. We were 15th compared to their 1st and 2nd. Delving into the scores on this one we got a 49. Utah got 60, Washington got 57.5, Miami 53.5. New Orleans 55.5. Bear in mind that this was done in May, before we added Brown and Horford and before Miami lost Bosh and Wade. Even so it seems a little harsh to me.

As player score is 50% of the total score I wonder if Boston came out top overall and then they thought "It would be suicide to publish that". Who knows but when we take into account the long term it sure does look like we should be top

Thanks for the info on the actual future power rankings. I'd rather look at it as a more generic phrase. If it's not about the future in regards to say three or more years, then I suppose Cleveland and Golden State should dominate it until they slip back towards the second tier.

It's all about Danny Ainge and how he set us up for flexibility moving forward.

http://en.hispanosnba.com/salaries/teams/boston-celtics

Players that can simply be allowed to walk after this year:
Olynyk
Zeller
Young
Amir
Jerebko
Jackson
Green
Mickey

Players locked up for four years including this one:
Horford
Crowder
Jaylen Brown

Players with only two years left:
Thomas
Bradley
Smart
Rozier

Rozier can be retained a third year by team option and I am assuming Brown is retained in years three and four by team option.

Yabusele, Zizac and Nader look promising, but there are never any guarantees they can transform potential or good play in inferior leagues to the NBA.

The Brooklyn picks are where the gold is found for our future.

We'll either get another star through Danny trades or he will ride this out and keep rolling the Brooklyn dice.

Minnesota seems to be good for a futures team, but they are missing the good to very good developed pros already on the Celtics.

Orlando and Milwaukee for a number of years have looked promising, but they still haven't made any leaps from looking at the standings.

Toronto is our big brother and are currently still bullying us. But they are possibly looking at an eventual treadmill if they can't snag a big free agent to go with their few established stars. The Clippers have been stacked with stars for years and we are still waiting for them to get even a small whiff of a title opportunity.

The NBA has been flipped for roster trends over the past decades. Players used to stay on the same teams for a lot longer.

Now the trend seems to be to retain a couple stars and make them feel comfortable while finding economic pieces to fit around them.

We basically need great future years out of Crowder, Horford and Brown. We need Danny to make good decisions in regards to Olynyk next off-season and then the one after that with Bradley, Thomas and Smart on slate for decisions.

As fans we are helpless. We can hope for fireworks or be patient for development. We can form opinions on who we want to keep, cut or trade, but that's about it. And we all know the old saying on opinions.

No matter what happens this year, Danny will be looking at another top draft pick to select and the room to add another very good to great free agent.

The only treadmill we are on is one of uncertainty. That is the character of the new NBA with crapshoot drafts, persistent injuries and salary caps limiting lengths of contracts.

Jaylen Brown doesn't look like a crapshoot. It would help if he could make the leap out of the rookie deer eyes phase going into next year. Then we'd have a good to great player at cheap Isaiah type money for three more years.

A lot has to go right for Danny to set us up to win title #18. However, I think for us to become a contender nipping at the great teams won't take much more than Danny rolling out of bed.

I am as frustrated as anyone at the number of 3s (because they don't make them) - however you see how it opens things up for Isaiah.

I'll play along

IT top 10 PG
AB top 10 SG
Crowder top 10 SF
Horford top 10 C

-Smart developing top 10 pick that is a top 10 defensive guard at least right now.
-Brown developing top 10 pick. Flashes off the bench right now.
-Soon to add another top 10 pick to develop via Nets.
-Enough cap space to add a max level salary player next off season.

Oh the green kool-aid
