Real +/- rankings per ESPN as of 1/24/2017:

Crowder 8th of 80 SFs

vs

Covington 22nd of 80 SFs
Noel  42nd of 93 PFs
Saric 93rd of 93 PFs

Do I trade the best player in the deal for Covington, a rotation player, Saric, whose defensive shortcoming are substantial if his Real +/- is to be believed, and a rental in Noel?

No. Not interested in Covington or HOFer Saric, and if I wanted Noel, I'd put a bid in for him that I can live with next summer. Sixers would be nuts to match highest bid and I doubt Danny would even bid.

BTW, Smart's Real +/- is 18th among PGs vs 93rd (i.e., dead last among PFs) for Saric. Both are 22 yo. Doubt any GM would trade Smart for Saric straight up.

RPM is deeply flawed and not worth talking about as a comparison of those two players.

If Philly would trade saric for smart, which I don't believe they would, it would likely be beneficial to Boston considering he has a higher ceiling than Smart and we may add another guard via the draft.

I definitely do this trade. It would suck to lose Crowder but a slight downgrade to our SF for a legit big man in Noel and a prospect with intriguing potential is a steal IMO. Plus, I think Noel would flourish beside a guy like Horford.

I'm just voting No on all these polls until I see something good.

Probably one of three statistic areas he is top 10.   He definitely is not top ten SF in scoring.

Guessing Philly hangs up laughing.

Would you guys bite if they threw in Saric in a Noel Deal? Do you do it if we have to add Rozier.

Suddenly for the Celtics we have a big rotation of

 Horford Noel Amir
 Saric Olynyk Jonas

I've come around a bit on Noel, just not for the Celtics.  How do you run the ball-movement offense that Boston has been building for the past few years with him in it? And in this scenario you're giving up a starter to get him.

Crowder is really valuable for the Celtics and a super valuable asset: he's a wing stopper with a .647 true shooting % who doesn't need the ball and can guard three positions.  His increased skill this year at putting it on the floor has added to the ball movement, and he's significantly upped his finishing skills this season. He is versatile, complementary, on a bargain-bin contract, and still improving.

 Embiid
 Simmons
 Crowder

That's a nice Frontcourt for them, and there is 4 stud point guards in this draft.

You might win a Playoff game if your lucky

Saric is worse than KO by a lot right now.

People besides you really don't think saric has a higher cieling than smart. I wish you would stop saying this in every thread

Thank you for posting the numbers. With some growth saric could be an average role player. At this point he is a bad NBA player. It is also not like he is a teenager like bender. He is the same age as smart and old for a rookie. Look at mirotics growth as a comparison. It is what it is
