Lonzo ball could make us Great

his shot if you watch it you can tell he is trying to carbon copy curry with his release.   Not saying he is a bad player but I don't see Kidd or Curry with him.  I see a guy who is trying to copy both.  Moreso Curry and he is actually bigger than him.  He's a curry wannabe.

I doubt he would fix our rebounding problems but he is a great college player.   So was the Jimmer, right now future looks very bright for Lonzo, only time will tell.

 It's the same old song Walker. BPA. I know we are stacked at guard, but it doesn't matter. Your take the player you think has the best future in the league and you worry about the rest later.

 Fultz and Ball are two players that are tough to pass on. We don't have talent like those guys on our team.

Fultz and Ball pass the eye test in a big flippin' way. They could be transformative players, and you can't win an NBA title without at least one on your team.  The Celtics are loaded with second-tier players and look where that is getting them....

It's still early though. Proclaiming Ball as that is a bit early no? Harry Giles hasn't even played yet.  HE could be KG redux 2.0 for all we know lol.

I wish Ball the best.  He looks good.  Nothing against him.  I do question if we need another pg. If he's Bob Cousy sure why  not.

Seems to me like the C's are trying to build something with a mix of young and more experienced players is all.

I don't question Ainge would take the bpa regardless if he really likes someone.

I have absolutely no opinion about the kid , i haven't seen him play so i can't argue about his actuall ability and talent

But after lurking (mainly) here what i ve learned is that usually the players who look like HOF /once in a generation talents in the middle of the season turn out to be closer to busts than all stars.

That can go both ways.  Some guys really do live up to it.  Ball doesn't seem half bad.  Difficult to say right now though. 

The way I feel from the celtics perspective is they are trying to build something with a more proven track record. 

I think if Ainge really likes someone he will draft them though. That's me speaking out of both sides of my mouth but i think that's true.

Some people are going to say he's the second coming of christ when he's really not.  Other's are going to say wait a minute.  Who's right there?  I think the celtics ultimately want to do something with a more proven track record.

We can gamble a bit with these picks but I still think ultimately the celtics are going to try to get to the meat of it and try to do something with that's more proven.  If Ball ends up being that sure thing.  Any of these rookies are a gamble a bit where the celtics might take a shot on someone like Ball if they really like him.

I don't think Ball is the second coming of christ just by looking at him.  He could be bob cousy though.  Cousy even fooled Red and he refused to draft him.  Cousy was a magician, david copperfield and deceptive in more ways than one.

I don't think we need another pg ad the celtics are trying to develop certain guys and go with something more proven.  But anything is possible.

I could see ainge being enamored with him.

We have tiny archibald and dj in isaiah and smart as it stands.  What do you we need cousy for? Or Ball who basically is Cousy to me here.

I like Fultz better, he's the scorer here. He's more creative than ball, and he's not overdoing it too much with his shot like Ball. I think he's the most likely to be a star. Lonzo doesn't get to the rim enough on his own... keywords "ON HIS OWN" ... we need that on these C's.

He literally is the second coming of Jason Kidd. Kidd destroys him in steals per game, a ridiculous 3.8 per game but look at how eerily similar their games are at the same age. Ball is the better shooter for sure.

There's a lot to like in this highlight reel.  A few random observations:

Really nice passing.  Decisive and on-target.

His shooting stroke is a little like Kevin Martin's: starts with the ball unusually low.  That helps to get a good arc on the shot, but keeping the elbows tracking straight takes more.  Martin's would have a weird corkscrew, but you can't argue with the results.

It's always an unpleasant surprise to watch college ball, where drivers can seemingly get to the rim with no resistance at all.

I guess I'd be a little concerned about his knees given his body structure.

I like him and think he's a good fit for Boston.  But the Celtics need a top-ten player, and he's not that.
