How does Danny sleep at night?

We haven't netted much from that particular trade yet. Sure, it made us bad enough to get Smart and draft Young and Brown, but it's not as though we are sitting here with a superstar.

I often wonder what could have happened if the Celtics retooled for the 2014 season around the aging superstars and Rondo, if they could have landed a major free agent to continue the good run instead of blowing it up.

I don't and apparently neither did Danny.  The team not was capable of winning it all.  If I had to guess, I'd say 2nd round exit, just like the Nets.

Hindsight is always 20-20.  The trade looks better every year, but no one could have predicted at the time what would happen to the Nets and then the subsequent Nets trades.

I hated the trade at the time, but since then I've eased off that position. What's done is done. But  I look at San Antonio and what they were able to do in terms of passing the torch and keeping the culture in place, and I wonder if the Celtics could have done the same thing.

neither were free agents at the time. I dont think we had hardly any cap especially with Jeff green in the fold.

I dont think a torn-ACL Rondo, 36year old Pierce and 37 year old KG, and Jeff Green would have been good at all.

exactly.  it was grand larceny.  to this day, I still don't know how DA did it.  I mean it was no fun losing KG and PP, but they were cooked.
