Guerschon Yabusele

Not sure if anyone has been paying attention or if i'm reading too much into it because fact is it's the CBA , not the level of NBA but Guerschon is getting it done over in China for the Shangai Sharks. Maybe a resource we need to tap come playoff time after the CBA season is over to address our woes in the frontcourt at the PF position. Something we need to stay aware of.  We still have rights to him correct? Celtics did a draft and Stash.
 I didn't pay too much attention to him or the summer league , but was he not effective?

Another undersized big...great. Why do I feel Yabu was chosen because he was easily stash-able?

I thought he was French, yet he writes in what i think is Turkish....

yeah, I follow him. he probably speaks a few languages, it only took a year for him to learn English as well as he has.

He's on IG too and it was funny because he bragged about beating Ben Bentil's team pretty bad and he tagged Ben who got up in his feelings with a snarky reply. You could tell Yabu was only razzing but Ben felt some type of way.

Bentils success is not a knock on Yabu. Bentil was a dominate offensive player in college who needs to develop the rest of his game to make it in the NBA.

One possible ancillary benefit to having Yabusele playing in China is it might improve the Celtics scouting in the Far East. Maybe they'll discover the next Yao Ming and bring him back to Beantown.

His defense in Summer league was atrocious... It was almost like watching someone who had never played basketball before play defense.

his defense was my biggest gripe about him after the draft and during the Summer League.

Someone posted on here that he never really learned how to play defense correctly. He was playing flatfooted or on his heals. This seems to be something that can be corrected. Scoring and defending bigger players underneath may still cause him problems. We'll have to wait to find out if he's learning how to defend during his stay in China.
