Tonight, the Pistons couldn't miss. Yet, the Celtics never gave up. They kept the game close even though the Pistons were shooting...lights out. I thought it was one of the most exciting games of the season. Only wish Brad would have ordered a few hard fouls to throw their rhythm off.

The officiating was horrendous. Who knows, if they had gotten a few of those bad calls the results might have been different.

I think Smart does a good job of placing and fulfilling those orders.  Wish Crowder did more of it, actually.

There's no more pathetic excuse than complaining about the officials.

no one should blame the loss on the refs.

but at the same time, there were 3 plays that the refs called incorrectly that could have had an impact in the result of the game.

1. goaltending call, should have given Isaiah a bucket.
2. olynyk "foul", that was most definitely not a natural shooting motion
3. 8 second violation against detroit should have been called at the end of Q4.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I think we use this excuse too many times yet. We said the same for Denver, like Mudiay was extraordinery. I'm sick of these they-shut-the-lights-out excuses. Maaan, we need that trade!

I think you should never let a team be close enough in score to let the refs affect the outcome.  We were outplayed last night.

But NBA refs, hold grudges, have been alleged to gamble on games, and favor star players and blow a ton of calls.  In short, they stink much worse than NFL or MLB refs.    I think folks need to complain because they are terrible and bad ones stick around.  How in the world did such a poor ref like Joey Crawford stay around so long, if you and I were that bad at our jobs we would be sent packing.

Smart got hit after taking a three. They didn't call the foul. I thought that made sense because he's always flopping. Then it happened to a different Celtic with still no call. There were other calls and non-calls that looked shady. The Detroit game was the first one in a while when I wondered what the point spread might be.

There is winning and first loser.

They lost at home against a team they should beat who were also without their best guard .

I see nothing to be proud about this loss.

Thank you, and TP. I've made this point many times in the game threads this season and last, and there are usually at least a couple of people who say, "Oh, it was just an unlucky night, the other team was unusually hot, it won't happen again." But then it does, usually not long after. So many teams and mediocre players have been "unusually hot" against Boston that it can't be considered flukey any longer.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.
