Since a lot of people on here are into the specifics of what makes a player good in different areas, I thought this would be appreciated here. The video highlights alot of the dribble moves that are so rare for a player of Jaylen's size, and how it can be beneficial for Jaylen at this level.

Very interesting watch, and it helps to show you that this kid still has so much growing to do as a player.

Anyway, enjoy.

it's a good watch indeed. Love watching the kid play, still kind of raw but you definitely see an improvement from the time he was drafted until now. Makes me very optimistic. Though he didn't have a great game yesterday, that post fade away yesterday was very pretty to watch and he had like 2 defenders on him :)

Makes me very excited about his potential. He's a very special kid.

Ok, I'm now back to not including him in a trade for Cousins. I'm gonna be firm this time..

You know, watching Harrison Barnes last night made me think of comparisons. When I look at a guy like Brandon Ingram, I see Harrison Barnes. He is a potential 20 ppg guy, but most of his points are going to come in mid-range pull-up and spotup threes. While Barnes and Ingram can drive, they are not explosive enough to beat their man off the dribble or power through contact at the rim consistently. I'm not knocking those guys - they score in their own way. While these guys certainly will help your team, can you trust them to consistently create offense against a playoff defense? Sometimes yes, but consistently?

That's why I like Brown's POTENTIAL (not saying he is currently better than Barnes). He's got the trifector when it comes to driving: 1) He has the elite explosiveness to beat his man and power through contact, 2) He has the euro-steps and cross-steps to beat help defenders in creative ways, and 3) He can finish with both hands, off both feet or two feet, finger-rolls, dunks, and double pumps.

Obviously, Brown is not as well-rounded in his jumpshot as Ingram or Barnes. They are different players. But it is hard not to be excited about his driving potential. If his work ethic stays strong, his mid-range pullups and spotups might be pretty good too.

Barnes get's a lot of flack for drawing Kobe comparisons in high school which ended up looking ridiculous after his mediocre 2 years at UNC. That being said though I don't think that Jaylen has ever produced at the level that Barnes had.

Brown has more explosive potential but expecting him to break out like Barnes appears to have is a bit tougher since Barnes was living up to his high school stature where Jaylen's never produced like that at any level.

Very nice...the kid could be something special.

He's so physically advanced at such a young age.  And he seems so mentally mature.

I could totally see why BOTH Danny and Brad wanted him in green.

TP, I was just coming to post that video.

It's a nice breakdown of some of the stuff we're going to be seeing a lot of. What's great is that all of his go-to moves are moves going to the basket. Yes, he has to keep working on his J but with his physical abilities, being able to get to the rim is going to be his bread and butter in the NBA.

I could see best case scenario for him to be kind of like what derozan was the last couple years (ignoring this year) with better handling and passing.

He is very smooth for his age and size. Lets hope he continues to put the work in.

Great Video. TP FOS. He's so fast, quick, and most importantly, so strong. He will be a go too guy sooner or later.

Some games I think Jaylen is going to be a top 5 player one day and others I think he's going to be a step or two up from Jeff Green.

Its weird. I understand full well that he is an asset that isnt super high in value, but you can see so much potential there. Say he only gains 5-10 pounds of muscle between now and his prime, he will be a physical beast. His ability to change speeds while dribbling allows him to get into the paint so easily. Anything is possible, but the future likes bright for this kid.

The more I see of him, and the more we get to know his personality, the less I want to trade the kid. In some huge deal, unless we get AD, I really want to avoid trading JB at any cost. The kid COULD be so good one day.

I think that's all part of being a good not great rookie.

He needs some significant development. But he has a great foundation from which to work.
