1-9 to start the season?

NBA should institute a relegation system. I am sure it will be a good thing for the league to have at least two divisions. Sixers would have been relegated by now.

They just plain sucks. Okafor playing like poop. Noel out with injury. You have Embiid playing along with D-league scrubs.

Sort of off-topic but related... if they started 1-9 this season, then they are definitely going to have to ship out Noel unless they are okay losing him for nothing after this season.

Doubt he gets an extension, and I think if Philly are tanking, they will DEFINITELY need to ship off a big man.

That just isn't accurate anymore.  I mean they do plain suck the DL scrubs part just isn't true.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Jarryd Bayless will be back which will give them some more depth.

We'll need Lopez to go down for the season or get traded to compete with them for the worst record though.
I don't think the Wizards are as bad as their record suggests.

Their starting 5 is a good team (playoff caliber team) but their bench has been killing them.

Look more like a 30 win team than a playoff team.

Philly were always going to tank this season once Ben Simmons got injured.

They needed his talent to lift them out of being a god-awful team to being just plain bad.

At this point I think they have moved past being a "Tanking Team" and are now just your run of the mill awful team. The combination of key injuries (Simmons and Bayless), playing young players, and a big man rotation that is talented but just doesn't work. Looking at their roster they have clearly moved past the D-League talent tank that they had in the past.

With Noel and Simmons out and with Embiid and Okafor both coming back from injury they have had no real issues with the big man rotation this season.  I mean Embiid has missed 4 games and Okafor 1, but even if they each played in all 11 games, combined they still aren't at 48 minutes a night because of their minute restrictions.  Saric and Ilyasova are picking up the extra center minutes and all of the PF minutes.  No problems at all with rotation.  Now when Noel comes back it will get a little trickier and if Simmons comes back this year, it will get very messy without a move, but at this point they have had no real rotation problems at all.

Two of the Sixers starters, Simmons and Bayless, as well as Noel have been out injured.  Embiid and Okafor are both on minutes restrictions.  Before the injuries the Sixers were projected as a 20 win team, so it shouldn't be surprising that they are amongst the worst teams in the league.

I will say that Philly has had pretty unfortunate injury luck this year.
