length ,euro step to left hand ,driving the lane nice touch of backboard ,shooting threes-he is better than james and has better tools-he got crossed over once on defense  by i think by gary payton,it was a good move

demetrious will get more attention for his theatrics and will be a crowd favorite
his athleticism is westbrook like but nader has now had three 27/29 point games and hitting for good percentage
nader is smooth in a deceptive way, as is his length and switching hands at rim, his subtley gets lost except to those watching the little things-he sets good screens and pick and pops-the red claws are full of guys that put the ball up and the pace can be frantic-nader can sort of get lost in it, as he cruises to really good games  without that jackson wow flash
his game translates and would quickly adapt and not hinder the celts much like rj-he makes the right play and is often open but missed by the run and gunners on his squad--

TP for the updated scouting report, Rollie.

How do you think his skill set will translate at the NBA level?  Does he have enough athletic quickness to create his shot, for example?  I know he can jump to the moon, but as you know, it takes a high level of athletic quickness to be able to create your shot in the NBA.

I dont think it matters who is better at this point.
If Nader is on the roaster Celtics have to give up on Young- DA is not ready to do so.
As it is we give Young another chance and we still have the rights for Nader.

he is longer and stronger than young-his 7-1 wingspan lets him get off shots
-he moves laterally well and can switch onto bigger or smaller-watched a big try and back him down(didn't happen)watched him block a shot on a smaller guard
had a hesitation move down the lane bank shot in and ouf, he just uses that reach
-he can bring the ball up,i have not seen the 40inch vertical maybe when he blocked that shot a mickey mouse call he has good body control, also he altered a shot but when dunking doesn't need much-i'm surprised he doesn't rebound better-
i haven't seen any highlites up
-i watched the whole game with focus on him-i can say jackson gets out of control ,damien lee quick a scorer but also played loose-nader spent a lot of time waving,it felt  he was getting upset  so after several loose possessions he jacked up a three from deep-

shooting over 54.7% fg and 46.7% from three, also 2.3 steals a game and 88.9% from foul line
my only negative thoughts are a good scouting report might shut him down -a bit predictable, might need to pick up some more moves but the basics sure are working

dont we all on one player or another?  ;D

the last time i saw a "rollie-crush" i think it was on powell, now with dallas. he turned out to be a credible nba bench player. so good call by rollie on that one.

now i am curious whether nader pans out.

rollie, thanks for the thread and please keep us all updated. and a top for both of you.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.

James young would score that easily now. I personally would try to Trade Jackson to the Mavs and Bring Nader up. Young to me is like Avery Bradley he is going to keep getting better and better. Crowder has been riding him hard and Young i think is motivated to become the player he should now.

I want to get excited about Young, but if I understand things correctly, there is almost zero chance of him being with us next year.

The most that we can sign him for is $2.8 mil. If that is the case, the best scenario for us is that he shows well and becomes a more valuable asset by the trade deadline.

If he plays well for us and isn't traded, there is no way he takes $2.8. If he doesn't play well enough to earn $2.8, then why would we want him?

Nader has a contract with the Celtics for this season, i will be very surprised if they haven't put some restrictions for his rights next season.

This team, at times obviously needs another scorer on the floor. We're continually depending on IT to provide offense. This isn't a good thing.

Why not give Nader a look? It's not like we're a contender protecting anything. We could send Mickey to Maine to further develop.

We can't give him a look because we have to many players, we have to waive/trade someone first and no, sending Mickey down wouldn't matter because he is still under contract and counts against the roster.

No, Celtics do not have a contract with Nader but have his rights. If Nader was under contract he would count against the 15 man roster.

I haven't read it myself but I saw that the new CBA will allow 18 man rosters instead of the 15 now. So now we can sign these stash players (like Nader) and bring them up when we need or want to give them a shot. Don't quote me b/c like I said I got it secondhand.
