I have to fall on my sword on this one.
I was definitely freaked-out by their early hot start.  I was ready to trade the 2017 pick for a reliable big man. Smh

Can I use the excuse of Jeremy Lin's injury for their level of ineptitude? ???

btw, it looks like Brooke Lopez has mentally checked-out for the season.

TP for admitting the mistake.

I tend to think that RHJ and Lavert might finish the season strong and have a good year next year. Combine that with another year of attempting to overpay for RFA, and I think the Nets have a better roster next year. This pick is probably the best it will get, but man could it be good.

TP for admitting to having a panic attack.

I don't think Lin's injury has much to do with it. Guys on their 6th team in as many years aren't difference makers.

Frankly, they were never really that good. They never had a winning record, their schedule was favorable and you could look at their shot percentages to realize that they couldn't sustain it for long. This recent slump has a lot to do with their schedule getting tougher. They've played TOR, GS, CLE, CHA, CHI, UTA, IND, CLE (again) and ATL recently. They've gotten curb stomped. I don't expect it to get much better with TOR (twice), Houston and some back-to-back road games coming up.

I'm hoping they move Lopez at the deadline because it's their late schedule I'm worried about. They could make a mini-push and screw up the draft slot in late March with games against DAL, PHO, PHI, ORL (twice) and a couple of others - with most of those at home. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they've mentally thrown in the towel by then.

Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

TP. We've all been there, even the guys on this site that believe that they combine the wisdom of Job with the ability to part the waters.

The problem is they have the wisdom of Job and the patience of Solomon.

Maybe they sit him like they did last year. They won't likely be fighting for a playoff spot, so there will be no upside to playing him.

if you cant take a peak at their roster, i bet no one can name 6 players, they absolutely suck.
Booker is like a poor mans D Green, I would love to have him on my team

Challenge accepted. Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Harris, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Randy Foye, Caris LeVert, Chris McCollough. Boom.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

They just lost, at home, to NO without Davis. I'm feeling pretty good that they're a really bad team and are heavy favorites to have the worst record.

There are two things in particular I love about CelticsBlog:

1.) The TP System, which is much better implemented than similar things on other websites (like Reddit upvotes, Facebook Likes, etc).

2.) The ability to bump ANY old thread, even from like 6 or 7 years ago.

This Brooklyn team sucks.

By the time New Years rolls around this team will still only have 8 or 9 wins or so. That would put them into the same winning rate as last year....or so. A 20 win Nets team is in the bottom 2-3 teams in the league. That's what's happening with these Nets this year
Instead of New Years I should have said mid-January. This Nets team is perhaps worse than I thought

Good call. I knew they'd start to lose a lot after their hot start, but I thought they'd have 11 or 12 wins by now.

You sound like a swell guy.

Do you realize I listed options. One of them questioning if the sample of games was too small to make a judgement?

We've been beating on the Nets here a lot today and now it's a one-point game at Toronto, even though Lin is still out and the Nets played last night. Karma might be out to get us.

Think of it as a win-win game.
