5-5 and loss to New Orleans which was 1-9 before last night...goodness.  I understand it is very early and that the C's have several injury issues, the most important being Horford.

I live in Arlington TX so I really hope the C's don't fall to the Mavericks tonight which are 2-7.

I'm beginning to wonder if this team will not win as many games as last years team - 48.

They'll win more than 48. It's still early. if we were 6-4 no one would be overreacting nearly as much. we're fine. let's just hope that when Horford and Crowder return, they're 100% and will have minimal to no adjustment periods. the heart and effort will return when they return, and with that comes the defense. and let's not forget how much better Horford makes us offensively. We will be a very good team this year. Patience is a virtue.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

they have had a few bad losses. they are also missing 2 of their best 4 players.

if you view the NBA season as 8, 10-game mini-seasons, they are one game under (5-5 vs 6-4) the pace they need to be at (.600) to win 50 games.

They are who we thought they were.  They should win about 55 games and could go deep in the playoffs.  It's been 10 games and 4 of those losses came without two of our best players.   It happens.  We're fine.

If it's any consolation, I can personally give you a LarBrd33 guarantee the C's will not fall to the Mavericks tonight.   Maybe tomorrow night, but definitely not tonight.  You have my word.

Ten games at not full strength and a 5 and 5 record. It is what it is and I'll take it.

The OP is right. We thought we would be Horford-Olynyk-Crowder-Bradley-Thomas, but we have been without three of those guys for an extended portion this season. We aren't the team we thought we'd have.

If you consider AH, KO, JC, and MS as 4 of the C's top 6 players, I don't think the C's have been missing fewer than two for any game this season.

My bad...I agree no way Celtics lose tonight...but living this close to big D it is important to me that the C's don't lose to the woeful Mavs tomorrow night.

You are right, they are not the team we thought...they have not played their real starting 5 one single game yet..

If the starting lineup is going to be Horford-Olynyk-Crowder-Bradley-IT then you're missing 3 out of 5 starters (and one out of your 2 best) including your entire front line. There's not a team in the league that could easily handle that, not even Golden State.

In this case 5-5 isn't necessarily a deal breaker. We're treading water until we get healthy and that's not necessarily a bad thing. If we can prove to be a .500 team without 3 of 5 starters, what are we with them all healthy? Hopefully we will find out soon.

In LarBrd's world, Brooklyn stunk last year because they lost their worst starter and a rookie. So using his criteria, we're lucky to have won a game thus far.  :)
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Dorian Finney-Smith is going to drop a career high tomorrow.

lol, probably. i remember we brought him in for a workout during the predraft process, i was actually kinda intrigued by him. pretty versatile guy. seemed like he worked hard on his game.

If NY blows us out on Christmas Day THEN I'll start to worry.

This team probably won't be clicking on all cylinders until about then - with KO just coming back and Al being in a state of flux and Crowder being out.

But to answer the thread I still believe this team will be playing DEEP into Spring 2017....if Danny gets the right opportunity to acquire someone(s) we COULD be playing into June of next year.

This is not even taking into account that our opponents COULD have injuries as well, but I'm definitely not hoping that on any team.

I'm still optimistic about BOS opportunity. It's been a rough start but we'll get it together.

This team sucks so much we have to go BACK IN TIME to have any success!!!

But, seriously, you're right. It's still a little too early to start reacting. I'll give it a few weeks. After about 10 games of a fully healthy roster, then we can judge the team again.
