We saw some nice things out of Sully/KO before. Unfortunately , the duo was overall too unathletic/short to provide consistent effective performance

Replace Sully with Al. Now this should be interesting. Both KO and Al can shoot, pass... the interior could be wide open for guys like IT, Brown etc

Good size (though KO is not a great rebounder/shotblocker) and a pretty good athlete (Horford)... maybe things will finally come together.

They'll look great.

The issue will be with the second unit. It'll be as bad as last night: where the Pelicans bench outscored our bench 57-20.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

Yeah, that was rough watching 'MJ' Galloway destroy us last night.

But, with Smart back on the bench and with Amir patrolling the paint with the 2nd unit, I am a little more optimistic that they can hold their own against other teams back-ups.

We have gotten so used to playing without 2 out of our top 3 or 4 players that the season almost seems a bit hopeless. I get that we should still be able to beat 1-9 teams, but hopefully we will have a chance to get into a groove once we are at full strength.

Yeah, I figure around the All Star break we should see them play together.

Come on... HOrford isn't going to be out THAT long... right?  I hope not.  Hopefully we'll get a look at them in the next couple weeks.

As long as Kelly doesn't have to defend some of the quicker power forwards in the NBA it should be good. Horford should deal with the tougher defensive assignments, he is the better defender.

I think on offense both can stretch the floor pretty well. There will be times when one will have to work from the paint. The beauty of this is Kelly has play making skills Amir doesn't have. He rebounds just as well too. When KO is behind the 3 point line, he demands coverage, the floor will really open up for IT, and Smart, and AB to go to the rack.

All hopefully in theory.

I cant wait to see this pairing take the floor, I think they are going to compliment each other extremely well. as love as KO stays assertive, which will potentially still be a problem.
