Here's to hoping Brown is better. Have you ever seen a less impressive 47 points. He just doesn't seem to be moving fast, and his three-point shot is awkward but it did drop forum. Brown to me is a much smoother athlete so let's hope his game comes together in the next couple years and he's our version of Andrew Wiggins dropping 50 points.

I don't think Jaylen is actually a similar level prospect but it's fair to admit that Wiggins started slow his rookie season.  Hopefully Jaylen follows in his footsteps.

Jaylen shot already looks quite a bit better than Wiggins so he's got that going for him.

Lol what? Look at how efficient he was. 14-21, 2-5 from 3, and 17-22 from free throw. And he did that on the second night of a back to back with Rubio and 3 big men starting next to him, so not much help or floor spacing around him. I don't think you know what impressive is...
CB Mock Deadline - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kemba Walker / Tyus Jones / Aaron Brooks
Jimmy Butler / Jamal Crawford / Treveon Graham
Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt
Taj Gibson / Nemanja Bjelica / Jonas Jerebko
KAT / Derrick Favors / Cole Aldrich
Picks - 2018 CHA 1st (Lotto protected), none out

The highlights were Lame. He banked a three in complete luck. Overall Wiggins has scored well, but has been just meh as the #1 overall prospect.

His own College teammate "The great Joel Embiid" will be better than him if he stays healthy.

Not really.  Jaylen through 9 games is averaging 7 points on 43%/31%/56% shooting.  Well higher than most expected.  he shot like 33%/22% in summer league against far inferior competition.  He had a surprisingly hot start... but he seems to be going in the other direction.   He had that big flukey game against the Cavs.  Prior to the next game, I made the following comment:

I'm bracing myself for a terrible shooting night from brown. Something like 3 for 16.   His shooting percentages are unrealistically high and he's due.  Hopefully he has another great game though.

Since I made that comment over his last 4 games he's shot 5-19 from the field (26%) and 1-7 from three (14%).

Here's hoping he bounces back.  I hate being right.

For reference, through 9 games Andrew Wiggins didn't look so great either.  At this time during Wiggins' rookie season he was averaging 10.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, with 46% shooting and 60% from three.   Then after the really slow start, he blew up and averaged 23 points over the final month.

Wiggins is now averaging 26.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists with 48%/55%/74% shooting.  Not bad for a 21 year old.  Kid is a year younger than Marcus Smart.

I'm not talking about that statistical nonsense that means nothing.

. It's all about Looking good. Brown looks better shooting it.

Im starting to think that you're developing a man crush with Smart. He's not even mentioned in this thread but yet, you found a way to bring up his name again.

I'm a big fan.   Smart was our consolation prize for missing out on Embiid/Wiggins/Parker.

Ooh... so not actual stats that show which one is better... you just mean that Jaylen's shot "looks better".  Yeah.  Ok.  Fine.  He's no RJ Hunter, though.

Seeing that Wiggins had noone to challenge him for the starting spot, there's no way Jaylen Brown is going to match those rookie numbers barring injury. How to play winning basketball is where JB most likely has the edge early in his career.

Brown is all over the place in terms of performance but he will out perform his hype because there less for him than Wiggins over the long run.   Wiggins was supposed to be the next LeBron, he is not that yet.   Most scouts think Ainge reached when we took him.  The kid has shown signs of being fearless, but we need to see more of that and less of camping in the corner that we have seen lately.   Maybe crash the boards when a shot goes up instead of watching?
