Absolutely max. We can't let The Franchise walk for nothing and we need to keep him around as a star like that comes around only once in a very long while.

I don't know why Clench thinks this is funny, but I think Danny should Max out Young instead of giving him a four year extension.

By the way, Max is the name of my friend's dog.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Would you essentially be giving him at least a four-year deal if you max him out?

In reality, I am glad to see Young finally look like an NBA player. Under no circumstance do I see a team giving him a huge contract so hopefully we will be able to get him at a very reasonable price if he continues to show promise. Not picking up his option was strictly a move by Danny to have as much cap flexibility as possible next summer...nothing more, nothing less.

What ever...it was nice to see him get some playing time and do very well for himself. He looked like he fit in, the "I'm lost look" is all but gone. His game showed maturity, he rebounds a bit, he goes to the hole, and shoots the 3. Sometimes I forget how young he was when he got drafted.

Lets see how he shows up in the next few games.

what for? we saw his all star performance in the last game. either extend him with an over the max offer, or trade him for embiid/davis and a few first round picks.

can the celtics retire a number when a player is still active?  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

U people serious?  U want that bad for this kid to be an all star huh?  He had one game.  Jesus of his 4 points one was a terrible lucky layup and the other was a lucky to be in position, barely above the rim dunk.  Next week he'll be back to his old self and the same people will be no where to be found.  Get a grip. ::)

Liven up. It's just a joke.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Thank you for this thread!

I've been telling people, instead of trying to sign Hayward or Griffin to the max in the next off-season, they should give Young and Olynyk max-extensions.

You can't let them walk for nothing. Young is a budding star and Olynyk's hair is a rarity in this league. Can't pass that up.
