My theory is that Young has been propelled by Jaylen Brown's success. He has seen first hand that a 19 year old rookie can play in his league, so there is no excuse for him at 22 not to ball. Jaylen's performance so far this season must have ignited Young and eliminated his youth excuse.

This I believe is a real possibility of why Young is getting it going. He sees the rookie balling.

The better he plays, the more likely another team will snatch him away.

If he plays badly, no one, including Celts, will sign him.

Is there a scenario where he will be on this team next year?  I don't see it, which is why the failure to pick up his option has created this catch 22.

More evidence he is a volume shooter and not a marksman.

Sometimes you just wake up one morning and reality knocks you in the head.

I have been down on James for 2 years now. I will eat some crow after last night's performance. He actually looked like a basketball player and not the timid bricklayer I have seen in the past. I want to eat more crow. lease keep it up kid.

Huge proponent of Rodney Hood on draft night which led me to be even more of a Young hater. I even wanted to keep RJ over him based on contract (this is still not decided yet).

However, I love what I saw of Young last night and not even in terms of shooting - that is expected. Our team is full of hustle player always making the right read on defense and constantly getting their hands on the ball. To see Young finally realizing that he could do that, too was quite refreshing. I also loved some of his passes. His head was really in the game last night and that was cool.

The downside to this could be less playing time for Jaylen Brown, though. Only six minutes for the young guy last night and that was with Crowder out. I am perfectly fine with Young getting playing time if he deserves it, but want to JJ and Zeller losing those minutes, not Jaylen.

It was one game. Even a blind squirrel can find a nut every once in a while.
