I see all of IT, AB and TZ as undersized 2's more than a standard PG.

Whenever Smart is on the floor, our offense seems to run much smoother, especially when playing along KO. Even our scrubs are having good looks from him.

my god, this board can be so fickle at times.

after his great game so many folks anointed him an all star, having a breakout year. smart was regularly crucified as a bust.

smart plays hard and well, but we still need to wait and see on his shooting. and this is coming from someone with a long history of supporting smart.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I never said anything about his shooting. Neither I said he is a future All-Star. I've been telling people here before on board that he is our best play making guard. Rondo is a championship caliber PG even without his shooting. I can see the same for Smart. This team just need enough shooters and finishers.

Smart is not a better playmaker than IT. It is just that Smart has less offensive options.

IT probably better player right now. But court vision? I give it to Smart. I saw IT getting too cute with his passes at times. Smart made it look so easy.

He shouldn't be over IT really to start but they need to give him the full Turner role.  They refused to and the offense was suffering and tonight they let him actually be the PG and things went really well.  IT and AB can play off ball but Smart is good with the ball in his hands.

I agree with this.  IT is our main scorer and playmaker but Marcus should be the guy running the offense.

How that can actually work is a bit tricky though because having IT, Bradley Smart on the floor. Jae Crowder has to sit or play power forward.

Smart definately should be the primary when he's in the game more and more though.

More in turners role but do his own thing. I think Smart is even more of a pg than turner was.  Turner was a creater and scorer who could pass. Smart is a guy who can actually run an offense.

Smart right now we really have him as a guy playing all over the place.  He was even defending Kristaps ths game.  He was also making passes off the ball.   I think at his best he could be a real pg though who runs the offense DJ style.  I like him as a jack of all trades though.

Yes exactly. He is a 'positionless player' which is a unique skill and really valuable for flexibility. Magic Johnson was mainly a PG but could play any position on the floor.

You mean, TR, right? Though I have to admit, Zeller really does rebound like an undersized 2, instead of a 7 footer haha
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Pls elaborate.

I love Smart.  But in no way will he ever be the primary PG on a highly successful team. He is "positionless," as someone else said, for several reasons -- pros and cons -- but in part because he can't reliably run an offense.  If he could, we wouldn't be force-feeding those minutes to Rozier (a natural 2 in a PG's body) now, would we?

He has always had solid court vision, he's a capable passer that at times makes flashy plays.  But his ball-handling is weak, he can't break down other PGs off the dribble to the extent needed. IT is so under-appreciated around here right now.  Can you imagine Smart breaking down Wall off the dribble and creating shots for himself or others the way IT did several times last game? He can't.

Rozier is getting minutes because Smart plays the 3 at times. And we see in this game that Rozier is not ready to handle the PG roles soon. Smart have shown flashed that he can attack and bully his defender with sheer physicality, especially inside the paint. And it was not only in this game. It's not a knock on IT. IT is a good PG too. But he's better suit as a pure scorer, ala Iverson role. Even he admitted that Marcus makes his job easier. Smart also have a lower TO% this season, compared to IT.
