Probably next season unless the Pelicans improve a ton in the offseason and start off extremely well next season.

He's still only 23. I think you've gotta be 25 before you start really worrying about getting stuck somewhere. So he's probably got another full season after this one before he outright demands a trade.  That's my guess.

I don't know man. The Pelicans are locked into a Moore-Hill-Davis-Hield-Asik core for the next 5 years. Even if Hield turns into a fringe all-star (possible but unlikely in my opinion), that is not a playoff team.

Now, if they can flip Evans or Holliday into another key piece, or if Jones proves he is a starter, that team is interesting. But it is barely a playoff team, and not a contender.

The Pelicans situation is reminding me a lot of KG with the Wolves.

Yup ......usually 25-27 then the reality of aging creeps in.   I remember LeBron hung on tmthe Cavs a long time. As did MJ and KG

I don't think Anthony Davis is requesting any trade, till at least 2 years. The lottery pick that they'll most likely end up with..

You run with seeing what Buddy Hield is made of, and try to see what you can still snatch out from Terrence Jones. I still don't understand this team, and their direction honestly. They finally got a shooter with potential, but they don't seem to be making any smart decisions. There were plenty of young point guards, and good free agents that they should've gone after. But they completely went south, and just sat still, and didn't really do much. Solomon Hill is going to end up as a mistake, but who knows.

0-8 and they may have no option soon but to tank.

Surely Davis must be reaching his breaking point?

Don't forget they will also almost certainly have a very high draft pick this year as well, which should yield a prospect between Davis and Hield, which adds another nice piece.  Plus guys like Terrence Jones are credible.  They could put together a pretty nice team around Davis without a lot of difficulty over the next couple of years, but it won't be a title contender unless they make a major free agent move, which is why at some point Davis may ask out.  I do agree, it is too early right now and wouldn't expect it for at least another year.  He will at least give them into next season.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - Noah, G. Wallace, Melo,
Deep Bench -

I thought he requested one the last game when he had to step off the court because his back was hurting. Yes that may have been one because his back is bad due to carrying that team lol.

Tonight, after he scores 70 pts and loses by 30 to the Celtics.
