Kind of weird they waived because he was injured but say they want him back when he is healthy? Is this just to save a few bucks since his contract was not guaranteed? Does this mean he has to be pay for the surgery and rehab on his own?

Either way, would this guy ever fit with the celtics as a playmaker on the second unit? He was averaging 9-5-3 in 27 minutes a game prior to getting hurt.

I haven't heard any character concerns on his last two stops.

I`ve read they are going to support him during his rehab

Although the Stephenson contract is guaranteed for $100k, NOP is on the hook until he recovers from his injury and returns.

Remember, he'd be making $9 million guaranteed this year, and the next two, if he hadn't inexplicably turned down a Pacers deal for less $ and fewer guaranteed years with Charlotte. One of the all time "bet on yourself" cautionary tales.

And if I remember right, there were a lot of people that were mad we paid Bradley 4/32 instead of signing Stephenson for 4/36.  Danny certainly had the right idea with that decision
I'm bitter.

It would be Rozier or Gerald Green's minutes at risk. I'd be for picking up larger, more physical wing defenders.

Stevens turned Jordan Crawford into eastern conference player of the week, could he turn Lance into a more defensive version of that?

Would we want Lance around Jaylen Brown? Might not be a bad idea to have Jaylen going against Lance in practice to get more used to physicality. Not only do I think that Jaylen would not be at risk of picking up Lance's bad habits, I could see a world where 19 year old Jaylen Brown has a positive effect on Stevenson.

Maybe help turn him from "Born Ready" to "Ready through Hard Work and Dedication".

Maybe I am in the minority on this, but I would rather have stephenson playing than Green. It seems like Stephenson just offers more that our second unit needs (rebounding, defense, ballhandling, shot creation)

Stephenson has been a locker room disaster everywhere he's gone. In spite of some real talent, no one wants him back for a second year. I'd stay away from that guy.

The least we need right now is another guard.

They waived him because they have 11 healthy players and need a warm body.  If Jrue Holiday wasn't taking care of his wife, they probably would have held onto Stephenson.

Having Lance in the locker room would really help us with his leadership.  NOT!   Are you kidding me?
