I didn't get to watch the game but I wouldn't be surprised if IT and Zeller were the leading culprits of such a poor defensive effort. I mean, at the half, Mudiay was shooting 9-10 FG or something?! That's crazy.

Lot of thoughtless, reactionary commentary here.  Definitely time to fire the coach and GM after a poor week and a 3-3 record.  There's no chance that things could improve or anything like that.  Especially when we are completely healthy right now.  Oh wait, there are 82 games in a season and we are missing 3 of our top 7 players?  Who knew?

Obviously the defense has been bad, but Brad's Celtics teams always get better as the year goes along.

Due to injuries, the Celtics are playing a lot more young/inexperienced guys than they did last year. That's really hurting the defense. We are going to need defensive improvements from some of the young guys since they are seeing so much time.

Right now, you can't count on Zeller, Rozier, Brown, Amir or Jerebko to be where they are supposed to be on defense.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Didn't watch the game but seeing the box score, I noticed something similar to our first game vs. the Bulls. Mudiay was shooting about 28-29% from the field prior to the game with us and he burned us in the first q. Same as the Bulls who burned us from deep and who were also prior to the start of the season proclaimed as a non shooting team from three.

Now as a NBA fan, I also know thes two things and if I'm the coach and my team is playing them, I would probably also try to expose them by giving them few free looks. But the question is why do we let those teams played us whole game and won against us? Either the players are negligent in doing their job or Brad is not making in game changes. Maybe little bit of both.

This is not an overreaction. And our game plan was plain and simple in those two games, but we're not palying them in the playoff series or something, it was just one regular season game, which we lost unfortunately to a weaker teams. Hope this doesn't happen very often....

I think Brad could be referring to a number of guys. Avery hasn't been quite up to his defensive standards. I think a lot of it could be directed at Amir, though. He's averaging 6.8 rebounds per 36 minutes. That's terrible. Jerebko, who's not as much of a traditional big, is only averaging 5 per 36. Jordan Mickey, in short minutes, has been even worse.

Averay Bradley is leading the team in rebounding. Good effort for him but that's not good for the team. The bigs definitely need to step up.

There's a lot of things, but I think basically all the bigs, besides Amir for a few stretches, have been really bad on defense.  If you watch the pick and roll defense, they come hard at the ball handler but never get the stop on them.  Last night they were getting absolutely blown by.

Jerebko is a guy that has been really, really bad I think.  It's too bad because I was a big fan of his play late last year.  He really brings nothing out there so far.  Zeller has had his statistical games, but his defense has been really bad.

They really need to lock in. AB, I think, has been picking his spots. Bunch of young guys playing lately due to injury, so few options to go with.

Offensively, some lazy, risky, rec league all star passes. It seems they've been scouted as teams are anticipating the kick-out and creating turnovers

We should of kept Sully to a one year...At least he plays with some toughness.  Or we could of signed Larry Sanders for a 1 year rental.

We had Deyonta Davis on draft night, and we let him go.
Argh!

Inconsistent motor. No thanks

Brad hasn't decided on a starting lineup for Wednesday yet - partly because of not knowing who is available yet and partly because of possible lineup changes. Wouldn't surprise me to see Smart start at the 3 to set a defensive tone off the bat. I also wouldn't be surprised to see one or both of Amir and Zeller benched, especially if Horford and/or KO are back.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

It would be disappointing if he didn't let Brown play through some tough stretches. If he doesn't start I hope he still plays 15-20 minutes.

Other teams are playing the passing lanes against us, we need to torch them with some hit shots then throw the pass.

As a starter, he's had one good game and one bad game, in which everyone played badly. I'd like to see him continue to start for a little while.

Call out Ainge as well!

Only a matter of time before BS is back in Indiana..

I like the call out, terrible effort by a playoff team..

Lol Brad is under contract for 6 years.

Does it really matter how long the contract is? Rivers was under contract as well, He Gone.

There Is Always an out clause, it's called, "I'm moving on"

are you ignorant? Rivers was TRADED. Rivers basically had to send out assets from the team he will coach just to be able to move. There is basically nothing Rivers coulve done if Ainge didnt consent, thats why they had to give Ainge an incentive to do so.  ::)

No, I'm a realist.
IF a Coach wants out, he gets out. It's called a buyout.
Rivers did not want to be here. Ainge used his contract as leverage to obtain a pick which was a very good move since Doc was coveted by LA.

Don't think for a second Stevens wouldn't move on if a Kentucky or Duke came a calling and Ainge wouldn't be able to do a [dang] thing about it but let him out.
The NBA is purgatory for 26 Teams and Boston is one of 26
