EVen this board gets offended by the silliest things that weren't meant like they think.   That's half the issue.

I don't get why brad just doesn't talk to zeller and get him more prepared either.  People are weird.  I'm basically saying the same thing he is.  He's calling them out but why not just get him more prepared brad?

Brad Stevens: "What’s most disappointing to me is the lack of physicality. That’s on me. I’ve got to play the guys that are more physical."

Then stop playing Zeller and Jerebko!

We literally don't have really any other options at the moment lol

yeah, i mean, i guess, i'm just so frustrated with how bad we've played and how soft we've been. Brad even called us a "finesse" team postgame. he wont say it, but he means it: we're soft. something's gotta change.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

We have too many small guards easily shot over, and soft interior bigs.

Zeller is a pathetic interior defender, Amir is barely ok, Jerebko is a finesse, end of the bench type player at best. Brown is a rookie.  When you take away Horford, and Crowder out of that group, you have nothing left.

I don't know what this team needs more...a center that can, get respect, rebound, and defend, or a guy that can score, so IT can start implementing some ball movement, rather than look for his shot, while killing spacing.

This loss is on brad stevens to me.  These guys are young and i get he's just taking his little shots and mind games, but this team should be better prepared by now.  We have to go through growing pains and its teh process of it and that's what he's doing but some of it is sillyness.

This team is being raised in a bubble where we will b e so good and like those 80's celtics that just beat teams night in and night out without even trying eventually but even still.

we'll trade for more talent too and be like that but as it stands zeller should not be that unprepared every night. In practice do they just watch him do this stuff over and over?

marathon not a sprint though.  Brad is a good communicator. But they must just watch these guys do this in practice over and over.

young players need to jsut develop and learn the game but even  still.  There are ways where he could be more prepared than this.

The writing is on the wall. Changes are on the way unless our guys come back healthy, and can bang with the best of them.

Totally agree.  Small guards, soft bigs...bad combo. And it's not improving any when Olynyk comes back.

A lot of these guys are young.  If you've ever played basketball it takes time to develop.

I really feel like Zeller doesn't know what he is supposed to be doing out there.  He's missing layups and just lazy defense.

Most of that is just effort and havign confidence in what you are doing.

We give up easy shots on defense and miss layups the team breaks down because they don't know to trust you.

It's not because Zeller is bad. It's not that difficult to make a layup.  It's just a lack of experience and being prepared. It's him being young and lacking experience.

Some coaches are very stupid and put the wrong pressure on these guys. The celtics aren't I don't think.

Zeller basically gave up that 24 point differential himself with all the easy layups and missed ones by himself.  We have other issues besides him too.

Zeller himself looked embarassed by it.  Lack of confidence or even giving a **** in what he is supposed to be doing out there.

8 million dollars too.  I could do their job and am stupid apparently.

Zeller's a decent offensive center who can't rebound or defend to save his life.  He is what he is.  The only reason I think they brought him back was as cover for Olynyk in case his recovery takes longer than was hoped.

Well we should trade for Kevin Love or Boogie then.  I'm not sure this team could handle boogie though.

I really do think it's a mindset and lack of experience with a lot of these guys though. They don't play to their capabilities.

We will not be getting boogie anytime soon. I'd like to see how this team fare first when 100% healthy.

With that said, I don't want to see Zeller next season anymore. Jerebko has been bad this whole season so far too. He maybe also gone. We still have Yabu and Zizic on board and have the chance to draft Giles in next year's draft. I wouldn't pull panic moves like decimating our team for an unproven star.

They aren't rookies though (other than Brown). Why did we not keep the big kid who rebounded well in pre-season games? What we are doing holding on to James Young is beyond me - sharp shooter in college who has not adjusted to the pro game or the pro 3 pt. line.

I do think Stevens needs to develop some attitude with these guys - be meaner and tougher and more demanding.

This roster is limited though, guards who can't shoot and bigs who can't rebound - that gets you nowhere in basketball. I so miss the days when the Celtics used to pound teams into dust on the glass - Russell & Satch, Cowens & Silas, Parish & Bird, Garnett & Perk.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

We have lost Crowder and Horford and don't have KO yet and have a rookie at SF.   We are a team that injuries can hurt badly.   All our alleged depth is an illusion, we have depth at certain positions like guards.

The refs were horrible, too, and helped build the Denver lead.

But the bottom line is; it was a disgusting game, we played like crap.

Good news: there is only going up from here.
Hopefully this game will be a lesson.
