Jaylen playing well on national TV is great. I want this kid to start getting some respect. He's earning it.

Also, Zeller finished the game with 11-10-6 with 2 blocks on 5/8 shooting. Those are outstanding numbers. Why do I still feel like he didn't have a good game?

He manages to get stats, but he's garbage.
Zeller has offensive skills. He's just a terrible rebounder which is hard to overlook.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Zeller was and has been solid this year.

He's a back up big man, I'm not sure what people expect.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Read that last line again. One more time.

Kudos to smart for having a fairly efficient game.

It was the most anti-Smart game ever: efficient offense and a horrible +/-.

On offense, sure (although he is a bit of a black hole). On defense and rebounding he doesnt really try. Compare his effort to Smart's and its day and night.

I was proud of our effort tonight. We cold have folded when we went down by 18-20, but we hung around and made a game of it while missing 3 key rotation players.

Bradley has been excellent, but Rozier and Brown showed a lot of their potential tonight. Smart's jumper looked improved as well.

I'm looking forward to playing them again at full strength. They are a good measuring-stick of where we need to get to. They are obviously better right now, but we can clearly hang with them and beat them on any given night.

What was his nicest play? Any match-ups with Lucifer/Lebron?

IMHO he was OK tonight.

I don't take much from that plus minus.  Being asked to be SF so much is tough.  He played well and really he doesn't get a chance to get the ball enough.  He only got to run like 2 pick and rolls.  Did well too.

He also played a lot of minutes with Jerebko, who was horrible today. I wonder what's up with Jonas, last year he struggled out of the gate as well and got better as the season went on.

This was a solid moral victory. Jaylen got some burn too.

We just need strong 'never give up' performances like this vs Cleveland so when the playoffs come, they'll always have a certain fear of us coming back and a bit of extra pressure. Also helps us know that we can bring the game within 5 points in the 4th quarter without Crowder and Horford.

Avery Bradley is playing like an All Star through the first few games.

I really do love Jaylen's attitude. He's fearless.

As for Bradley, wow...

That's why you don't purposely tank games. This is one of those games where a loss, while not preferable, still contributes to the growth of this team down the road.

I am pretty much on board with this.  Being competitive, seeing the cavs best shot helps you deal with it when it counts.  We probably don't have enough to really push the cavs, but incremental improvement is what it takes.

Not sure how Zeller can play on the same team with players like Crowder, Smart,  and Bradley and still manage to be the least mean player on the court any given night. He usually does something to impress me on the offensive end (or is just solid, in general), but he just doesn't have that toughness on defense...and I don't think he is about to learn it anytime soon.

Anyway, people should basically be happy with Zeller so far this year. He was signed as a tradable  contract 3rd string center, has been forced into early minutes, and has actually produced offensively. He won't even be playing in a couple of weeks.

lets sign Reggie evans LOL

Really our offense is terrific and I am completely confident our defense will be terrific in time. We just need some rebounders.

If we could get Monroe for cheap Id honestly be really happy.

Also with this Jaylen Brown performance you have to be excited for the future. Great job Danny Ainge!

Pretty sure this would have to be part of a three team deal to make the money work...

We would need to send out at least Amir and Zeller to a third team with space and they would need to give the Bucks a pick.. Probably not going to happen.
