If C's are able to send Young out (maybe with some cash), do they call up Ryan Kelly from Maine?

2.8 million for Young amounts to daylight robbery unless it is Young paying the Celtics for providing him with training, experience, and courtside seats to live NBA action.

If they find a taker on Young, I would prefer they just keep that roster spot open to sign a potential vet or prospect that becomes available later on in the season that fits better with our team. No need to bring up Ryan Kelly

I assume if they find a taker for Young it will be for a vet on a somewhat cheap expiring deal (Young can bring back up to $2.8 million in salary).  This would be a better back-of-the-bench player, and also be re-tradeable later in the season, being slightly more expensive salary filler.

My preference is Shelvin Mack from Utah.  He's a Butler guy, and can help run the offense for the second unit at times.

Why do we continue to dance around JYoung? Player came out of College way to early and is a BUST!

Lets call it like it is. There is no trade value and if any Team makes a move there just as #$#@ up as Ainge who should have sent him packing last week and kept the extra Big..

Possibly because he is the 15th man,his fate is to be a project for the future. also, he has improved in his first two years, there is no denying that. Whether he will continue to improve is the question, and how much?

Will he ever be as good as green has become? I don't know. But it is a very low risk gamble to keep him one more season.

This board called out to cut Bradley in his rookie year. Too much impatience and wailing over the 15th guy.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Maybe they can trade him for a compensatory third round draft pick.  ::)

Marcus and Terry's team options for the 2017 - 2018 season have been picked up.  James Young told Sherrod that he has not heard from the C's yet one way or another.

I think that the team has until midnight tonight to renew James to the tune of 2.8 million.

If we can't find a trade, they'll re-up him at 2.8M.  Otherwise, what was the point of cutting RJ?

He's a larger expiring contract and they weren't going to re-up RJ either.

Reports coming in that they've declined his final year.

OK.  I figured they'd roll the dice for 2.8M for one more year.  Guess not.
