Boston Celtics

Cleveland’s stranglehold on the Eastern Conference will be tested by the likes of Atlanta and Toronto, but Boston might be the best suited to knock them off.

Celtics Coach Brad Stevens has steadily improved this young team into a playoff contender the last two years, and the addition of Al Horford could be the catalyst that allows Boston to finally make it out of the first round.

Horford showed an ability to shoot from behind the arc, taking 3.1 three-point shots per game while making 34.4 percent of them, and is also adept at scoring in transition, often getting to the rim without resistance.

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my
blood would’ve been green.  -  Bill "Greatest of All Time" Russell

Clippers and Spurs have no hope of knocking off the Warriors.

I agree with Clippers but Spurs will be interesting.  I think Ginobili and Parker may be cooked, but I think on paper Gasol and Aldridge are an absolute nightmare to cover on offense.  They could be ridiculous together and destroy GS inside.  GS will be extremely vulnerable inside.

Let's be real -- a team will require good luck and injuries to one or more of the Warriors' top 4 guys in order to beat that team in a seven game series.

There isn't a team in the league equipped to defeat the Warriors in seven games if everybody involved is healthy and the teams have had an entire regular season to get used to one another.

If you could terrorize them on defense...it's possible

Yeah, until the Warriors disband, they should move to an NFL/NCAA style playoff format where one game takes all. I think it is any team's only chance. The Patriots were knocked off in '07 and '11 despite being the better the team (they also won in '01 when St. Louis was super-dominant).

I can only see a defense slowing that warriors lineup.  On paper they are unstoppable.

I find this to be pretty silly.  Yes they will be very good, but unstoppable, come on.

I am not high on Pau Gasol. He is still a very good offensive player but he is terrible on defense. I do not see any way his slow feet can keep up with the Warriors. Golden State will just stick him in screen and rolls and wreck the Spurs defense.

There isn't a team in the league equipped to defeat the Warriors in seven games if everybody involved is healthy and the teams have had an entire regular season to get used to one another.

They were down 3-1 to the Thunder and lost a 3-1 lead against the Cavs.  They just gutted their bench and, almost to a man, replaced them with inferior players.  And if they resign Curry to a max deal next year, they'll be spending about $90 million of their $102 million dollar cap space on just four players.  That means some of the remaining rotation players on the Warriors this year know they're playing for a big contract with another team next year.

The Warriors are going to absolutely destroy inferior teams this season but they won't be unbeatable.

Probably more than 90mil.  Durant has player option and with 10 years experience could bump his salary to 35mil.  They'll have Zaza as their starting C and possibly McGee as his backup.  The Cavs with a healthy Lebron can definitely beat them.  If we were to get Cousins without losing any core players, we'd be a serious threat.

I find this to be pretty silly.  Yes they will be very good, but unstoppable, come on.
In the history of team sports, the closest comparison is the Dream Team.  This is pretty unprecedented in modern American major league sports.

What about this year's 76ers though?

LOL

Are you doing some sort of experiment to see how many people put you on ignore?

You incredibly bullish on every team, but extremely bearish on the Celtics.

Annoyingly so.
