Crowder with his bull dog defense against Melo is reminding us why he's not getting taken out of that starting five anytime soon. Not many players play D at Crowder's level of intensity.

Hard to replace what Crowder brings to the game.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, Crowder is the KG of this team.

Crowder is the first player offered for a superstar.  That is a good thing.

But offense wins basketball games so we'll see what happens.

So if you shut down the oppositions offense, you win.

Remember 2008? Where our offense was pretty bad at the ends of games but our defense was insane so we won a title?

I loved our young guys at the end of the game.

The great thing is for me that I believe  Smart feeds off Crowder along with his own intensity and now I saw a glimpse of Mr Brown doing the same last night. Those three together have the physical skills and potential for defensive tenacity that is unmatched in the league. Then we throw in AB with Horford as the leader? Insane

I think if Brad develops that for us and if he is successful it will give us a banner.

1 - Smart
2 - AB
3 - Brown
4 - Crowder
5 - Horford

Considering both sides of the ball, is that our best small-ball lineup?  Note, no IT here.

I still say crowder's ultimate role for this team will be coming off the bench. between smart crowder and AB they are pretty much redundant. eventually we'll need a wing that can consistently get his own shot.

Jaylen Brown might be that guy apparently. in the few pre-season games his ability to get to the basket in the half court when there's not been much space has been eye opening imo. if he's given the opportunity in crunch time in the reg. season and continues to be as effective if I were BS I would definitely consider starting Brown over crowder.

but I think we're a long way from that.

I think IT/AB/Smart/Jae/Horford is a better all-around lineup, but defensively your lineup is better, and if Smart and Brown improve offensively (shooting in particular) by the end of the year, then it may be better overall
