He definitely gets out of position in the way you are describing but also can make some nice steals and can recover really well and challenge shots.  I think those are rookie mistakes that will get ironed out as the season goes along here.

I totally agree. I'm really excited for this kid. I'll just have to wait a little longer for the Smart, AB, Brown, Crowder, Horford defensive lineup reaches its full potential
My biases, in order of fervor:
Pro:
Smart, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Kemba, Grant Williams, Sleepy Williams, Edwards!

Anti:
Kanter, Semi, Theis, Poierier

Brown ....only 19 .......this could really be fun to watch.

Funny how it works out. He could've easily been Justise Winslow if Jordan hadn't been so stupidly stubborn.

Jaylen is Winslow on steroids..

The Nets picks were not in that deal to my knowledge.  That would have been way overboard.

Winslow doesn't seem to have the Kobe motor .....take over .....I dare you to stop me .....CBS seems to be molding Brown into that GO TO role player we need .  By putting him in at the very end of game ......GO get the the win Jaylen .....I'm stunned by the kids poise

Based on Jaylen's scouting reports I expected less quickness, a substantially worse handle, terrible awareness and terrible finishing and shooting. I thought he would be straight line explosive and thats it. Im so impressed with his quickness, his handle, and what appears to be a solid feel for the game. The finishing has even started to look better this preseason.

Since draft night Brown has exceeded my expectations.

I never understood the criticism of his handle. For a player of his size/style, it's always been pretty good.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

I thought Marcus Smart was so good tonight. As soon as he hits the floor he's everywhere, and he creates defensive havoc on the opposing team. Clutch rebounds, tipped passes, steals, in your face physical D. He defends 1 through 3.

He looks so much improved on offense too, he is really expanding his game. His shot looks better now, he's getting into the paint regularly, he know when to dish, dump, or score when he's in there.

Nice W tonight.  Watching these guys I just get the sense that they're going to be really good - and I didn't have that feeling over the summer.  Thought they might struggle a bit in the short term minus Turner but it appears that a few of the younger players have improved and Brown is going to be a factor right out of the gate.  I thought it might take him a while but its obvious that he's going to be a big part of the rotation right from the start.

Yep, he's showing signs of reaching his greater than Jaylen Brown potential.  I can't decide if I'm more impressed with the 2 points or the 0 assists... nah it's definitely the 1 rebound!

isaiah hasnt ever really gotten it going yet this preseason. there hasnt really been a moment where he kinda says FU to the opponent and goes and gets 8 straight points. his drives to the rim have also been few and far between. I hope that this is just because its preseason, because this team still needs isaiah's scoring. and i hope we dont change that now that Horford is in the mix.

am i the only one who feels this way? i cant help but feel like this preseason is lacking some big Isaiah buckets still. nice, crafty, quick drives to the basket and drawing fouls and stuff like that. it's either his mindset, that its still preseason and he isnt going all out, or that wrist injury is still bugging him, or there's been a change in the plays run for him, and the frequency that we ask him to score, due to the signing of Horford.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

We've been running lots of pick n pop, downscreens for Avery, flares for Jae. Teams have been collapsing harder on him, but overall nothing to worry about.

Its just that...preseason no bearing games
Dont actually see lebron doin his usual antics do you?
Never read into it simply because they wouldnt usually go all out on no bearing games...its just to allow you to flex em cranky joints from all that summer getaways...theyll be fine specially Isaiah.

he was seen as about the same level of prospect as brown when he came out.  Brown already looks better than Bennett did that first year, though.

he looks better than he did in summer league.  It would be huge if he could make real contributions in the regular season off the bench this year.  Long term I have high hopes. In year 1, I expect nothing of him.   I hope he's a quick learner.
