I agree Rollie. Green started off rusty as expected, but worked it off quickly and showed us that he can be an explosive scorer off the bench for us. Something we really need. He's going to get minutes over Brown until Brown can develop further. Brown is highly talented but clearly not ready yet.

I liked his offensive aggression, and his scorers mindset. With Turner gone we need someone that can be aggressive on offense, and attack.

And I agree Brown can learn from Green.

Danny's one of the true big game hunters in the NBA.

But he's also proficient at foraging for nuts and berries.

And when Jaylen combines JC and GG's games, he'll be pretty impressive.

Green looked very rusty until he didn't. He is going to fill the Eddie House instant offense role. He also had a nice block.

I can't believe how comfortable Smart looked at both point guard and shooting.

Maybe we will win 75 games!

The price was right, but I'm not all that excited about Green.  His aggressiveness is  nice but he is a big time ball hog because he can't do anything else on the court but create shot attempts.  He took more shots than anyone today and several players played more minutes.  He has a one track mind and a one dimensional game.

yeah i agree. im glad he made those shots, but he took quite a few bad ones and happened to make them. unless he can show us he consistently makes those shots, im a little on the fence.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

Although their games are different, this is similar to the Evan Turner signing 2 years ago. Basically no risk with a pretty nice reward, if he finds his role on the roster. And I think this team will definitely find use for someone who can come in, be aggressive, and score in bunches when the rest of the offense is stagnant.

yep. who knows, maybe brad will make Gerald Green into a $70 million man too

(of course, not getting paid here)

Brown was standing around a lot tonight, watching Green shoot a lot. Not sure how I feel about that.

he just wasnt getting the ball a whole lot. i dont know if that was a team strategy (he was 1/8 in the first half alone i think), or he was just shying away since he felt he missed too much. i hope his engagement in the games isnt a concern in the future.

C's needed someone like that, someone that can come in and get buckets.

no i definitely agree. we need someone who can do that. maybe im not used to green's game, but i just thought he was taking a lot of bad shots that happened to go in today. maybe im wrong. i hope i am.

The nice thing is that, between Brown, Smart, and Rozier, we don't NEED to play him. If he's having a bad night, or just hurts the team whenever he plays, Brad can just sit him on the bench. I have a feeling that his... willingness to score will come in handy a few times this year, though
I'm bitter.

I'm trying to decide whether his eye for underappreciated talent or Brad's ability to make anyone look good had more to do with the success of both Turner and Jordan Crawford
