The answer is cut Green and keep all the young guys.
I don't think you can cut Gerald Green.
In any case, they didn't sign him as a free agent only to cut him a few weeks later.
Green is too good as a replacement for Turner and Pressey as a spark plug off the bench.
Don't get the comparison. Looks to me like their games are really different.
He is insurance for if Jaylen Brown takes too long. Or with Gerald Green, we don't have to rush Brown.
Yes. In addition, they got Green as wing depth for a long season; second seed looks feasible, so they need to keep winning. I'm not exaggerating his importance to the team; there's a good chance that it'll be one and done for him. But he's a known quantity, and his market was severely depressed by his off-court issues, so they retain flexibility at minimal risk with his one-year deal.
I know James Young hit a couple threes, but he has to show an all-around game just like Hunter did.
Not likely that he does show an all-around game, certainly not in the critical next week - but he doesn't have to do that. Mind you, he can be in the league; his upside is three and D wing, a valuable commodity in today's NBA - maybe better than that, if he can do some more of that nifty dribble penetration we've seen in preseason. He moves smartly to his spots, moves the ball (had three assists in a game a few days ago), and it looks as though he can stroke it from deep.
James Young needs to show up in one of the next two games and take over. Then maybe Mickey gets cut or traded.
But Brad has liked what he's seen from Mickey: "Jordan has had a pretty good couple of weeks now, especially the last week... He puts in a lot of work... He can really impact us... He's unique because of his ability to move…"
I think that James Young is the odd man out here.
