I know there is decent talent there but I think the bench is another year away from being good enough to help a deep playoff run. We just don't see that many young guys help a playoff team traditionally. It's usually a few older vets that step up and one or two young players. Not a bunch of under 4 years experience guys. I'd keep this in mind as the season goes on.

How bout this by the All Star break, Olynyk and Brown are starters.

 Amir
 Crowder
 Smart
 Jonas
 Green
 Zeller

That's actually an awesome veteran bench. The Crowder change isn't realistic, but even without Crowder that bench looks good.

Olynyk getting back will help because it either puts him or Amir on the bench.

I liked what I saw out of Smart and Rozier against Philly.  Only problem was that they were going up against terrible competition.  I'm anxious to see if they play well tonight.

I also wouldn't fully rule out the possibility of starting Smart + Bradley together and having Thomas go back to being instant offense off the bench.  I know that's crazytown considering Thomas is coming off an all-star season, but the thing is - if Bradley and Crowder keep showing offensive improvement, there is probably enough offense in that starting lineup between Bradley, Crowder and Horford.

Though I do like the idea of having Rozier and Smart be the second unit back court.   Anyways - team has a lot of options they can try out.

The bread and butter for this team should be the two man game between Isaiah and Horford, with Crowder making things happen off the ball and in catch-and-shoot / catch-and-drive situations.

Success for this team shouldn't be especially complicated: maximize the time those three spend together on the floor, and try to keep things steady the rest of the time.

IT, Crowder, and Horford should all start and play as many minutes together as possible.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

The 2 man game between I.T. and Horford will be a 1000 times better with Olynyk on the floor to empty the lane.

In 2008, Kendrick Perkins was 23 and Rondo 22, so I find it hard to believe age is some overriding factor. Leon Powe also helped us win the title. He was only 24.

Jaylen Brown may be ready to be a key rotation guy on a championship team because he has an abundance of talent. Marcus Smart is emerging. Olynyk is extremely underrated but thankfully not by Brad, Danny and his teammates.

With Amir, Horford and Green, and with guys entering their prime such as Isaiah, Jae and Bradley, our team looks very balanced for age.
