Just things we didn't see much from last season.  A guy that can drive , explosive finishes around the basket.  But I also love the passes he made for easy buckets. He was just all around solid on both ends (nice steal). Thrived in pressure

Now many might still be bummed out that he can't "shoot".  And last night he faked two or three semi open shots and drove in for some real nice plays instead.    Eventually teams are going to back off and dare him to shoot.   

Brown may never become a sharpshooter but I feel confident he will be able to make the open shots more often than not. Excited to watch this kid play, grow, contribute this season

BTW anybody know if a Tomasz Kordylewski (highlight clips) is part of CB?

Tell me that you saw JB's fadeaway jumper on the baseline last night and that he still cannot shoot. The eye test tells me that he's talented, very athletic, runs the floor, drives to the basket, and plays defense. He will need to show consistency and at 19, it's expected that he will go through shooting droughts. The potential is there though, and he's already hit a couple of tightly contested difficult shots.

If his shooting never takes off to where we want it, I don't see why he can't be a Jimmy Butler/Andre Iguodola type player for the Celtics. A super glue guy that could be the 3rd best player on a championship team. He can change the mood in the Garden with a thunderous dunk at the right time. He's going to draw a lot of fouls, so he's going to get his practice in shooting free throws.

I want to hear from someone that has watched him play and concluded that he won't be a competent shooter in the NBA.

Honestly, I am really liking what I saw from Brown in both SL and that first game. Last night was really fun. Of course he still struggled to finish a couple times, but man he is money from that turnaround spot on the floor haha. His passing looked good tonight, and he really seemed to show his strengths in the flow of the offense.

I obviously liked the dunk (who didnt?), but the reaction of the bench was awesome. His dunk helped electrify the veterans and they were all on their feet. I have a feeling we will see that alot this year. Jaylen can be that guy who gets the starters fired up to get back in.

Ultimately, this team genuinelly looks like a cohesive brotherhood. Thats astounding considering we most likely added our best all around player to the mix. It should be a special year for the franchise, and we still can add another high level pick next year.

Its kind of funny how the addition of a splash of brown can help make the future look more green

What stands out for me is his passing. When he can't a good shot he passed, which makes his drives more effective. He draws the defense in and passes out.

this was somewhat true. he also drove headfirst into the defense a lot, without a plan for what to do. he will get better at that with time, but it led to a few fumbled errors and a jump ball or two. he has to have a plan for what hes gonna do once he gets to the rim.

I have to say, when I saw that midrange jumper It almost got me out of my chair from excitement.  Not just because he made the jumper, but because it just looked so smooth and natural.

Even his defense looked so much better then it did in SL - much more active with the hands and the feet. 

I swear the more I watch Brown the more he reminds me of Dominique Wilkins.  That's mostly because he's not really the "finesse" type of athlete who will try to dance around you (e.g. MJ, Dr J)...he's much more of the "power" type of athlete (e.g. Wilkins/Kemp) who will just explode to the basket, and will throw it down as hard as he can right on top of the face of any defender who dares get in his way.

He has that fearless "get out of my way or suffer the consequences" aggressiveness about him, which I absolutely love. 

If he can consistently combine that power/explosiveness with the type of fadeaway jumper he flashed yesteday, he'll be amazing.

The dunk in a half-court breakdown was awesome -- great to see him aggressive.

Like hwang, though, I was most encouraged by his passing. He made 3 really nice passes in this clip that suggest he has a better feel for the game than advertised / displayed at Cal, which is what I think a lot of us were hoping.

He'll be highly valuable, even if he never reaches his ceiling. Admittedly had low expectations for this season, but he appears to have more pure talent than I expected at this stage. Hopefully he hits the ground running.

I'm also encouraged by his attitude. We knew he was intelligent. It is becoming well-documented that he's a hard worker (Crowder, Butler), but he seems to really care. That was my one major concern -- how committed he is to a career in basketball. If he genuinely cares, his ceiling just becomes that much higher.

I keep trying to figure out why Brown doesn't appear to have an "electric" explosive body like the other guys mentioned.  I mean, Brown is absolutely blowing by people and dunking but his body doesn't appear nearly as charismatic as those other guys for some reason.  And it's not just because those guys became superstars; guys like Kedrick Brown, Gerald Green, and Tony Allen just had body language that made them appear far more explosive and athletic than Jaylen Brown.  I'm not complaining because Brown is blowing by everyone and getting to the rim, I'm just trying to figure out why I'm seeing what I'm seeing.

I also loved that midrange fallaway jumper.  It's a shot that Bird and Jordan mastered only at the end of their careers, and Kobe picked it up like halfway through his career.  That's a great sign.  It appears that Brown is more comfortable and has smoother mechanics with that shot than he does when he faces and shoots.

I'm liking his head for the game.  Does not look like a 19 year old so far.  We'll see mistakes but he has a nice feel for game.  I think we've got an all star in the future.  I think the doctor also ordered al horford, looks like he's been with the team for years and it can only get better.  Immediately our best big man by far

One of the things that impresses me about Brown is how quickly he gets airborne. His max vertical isn't all that awesome but his ability to get up quickly is unusual. He can go from standing to at the rim faster than most and that talent alone will help propel his NBA career.

I hear you on this one.  He does look different.  It seems like it's powerful yet less violent.
