Mock away. I am not scared.

Marcus Smart is flashing point guard skills. Our bench is easily beating Charlotte with the starters not playing.

What do the Celtics need to do to make my prediction look good, win 60 games? I know if we win 65, I will own this blog.

"No, actually Jeff will still own the Blog."

I meant bragging rights.

Roy and the others brought up a great point of how rare it is for a team to win 65. I think basketball is a game in which the rich get richer. The better teams usually win. It's not about point spreads.

Everyone on the Celtics who is going to be a factor looks good. All we are waiting on is Olynyk.

Marcus Smart is hitting jumpers and dribbling like a real point guard. Things are developing which make my prediction look not so crazy.

I admit Jaylen Brown looks both ready and not ready. That's because he's a rookie. He's still good enough to be a plus, just like Marcus was in his rookie year.

Crowder and Bradley are scary good. Amir is completely underrated and taken for granted.

At worst we are the sixth best team? At some point we might be considered third or fourth? What if we are the second best team in terms of w-l behind GS and ahead of the Cavs? At what point will we possibly be able to say with confidence that we are an elite team with only two or three other teams who rank ahead?

The 2008 Celtics won 66 games and the title. No one saw that coming until it sunk in. We are going to have a great won-loss record. There are no holes in our team. Rebounding? You'll see. We are solid at that too. Fat Sully and ball hog Turner are gone. We are about to dominate the NBA.

No one saw that coming? You mean besides the whole Boston Fanbases besides Bob Ryan.

I literally expected 60 wins and the championship. We were a better team in 2008 becuase of Star Power.

We are not winning 65 games this year, but we don't have too. Second place in the East and A Eastern Conference Finals appearance is a likely outcome and that would be great.

Maybe you're correct. I remember it as most people saying don't expect too much, that it will take a while for the team to gel.

I hate to repeat myself, but Brad's teams get better as the season continues. I suppose the first twenty games will be crucial to my zany prediction. If we come out of the gates fast, we can immediately move into title contending status.

That's what really counts, not the regular season, as GS learned in the Finals.

I think 60 wins is an approximate indicator if a team is a true threat. Maybe 50-55 is okay if a team is already established and they are losing games to heal key players, so they can win when games count for a title.

Hopefully we start out 18-2. Then we would only have to go 47-15 and then the bragging rights go directly into my back pocket.

In GSW's case, anything under 74 wins and a Finals sweep should be considered a disappointment.

maybe 60 if everything goes right (like, isaiah and al have all star/ all nba years, marcus breaks out, avery, kelly, and jae improve more, jaylen plays more nba ready than we expect, the bench actually learns to score)

i am cautiously optimistic about this season, i think we win 53 and are anywhere from 2nd-4th in the east.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

It's preseason.  Calm down.  LOL.

Definitely can see this team winning between 50-55 games.

65 though is a bit pie in the sky.

Appreciate the enthusiasm though.

But this is still a newly retooled team, so let's see how all the parts fit together, and how the returning players have grown.

I feel this Celtics squad will at the very least be very entertaining to watch this season.  We could possibly rank as a top 6 team in the NBA.

75 wins
Yeah! And I bet they win that many in the first 50 games of the season!  ;D

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

75 wins

Yes, I upped my prediction to 75 wins on a recent post.

My mission is completed. I wanted anyone thinking 45-55 wins to reevaluate. Maybe it will end up as professional wrestling between LeBron and Durant. Or maybe we can win it all. We must be as good as the Dallas team which upset Miami.

We are going to be much better than last year when we were already about the tenth best team or in that tier.

We beat GS last year when it mattered and I think we almost beat them another time.

We have a chance of becoming a bully. If we have 11 very good to great players acting as one, we could get into GS's head. We might be as good as those teams. It's about team. There is no I in team. There is me in team. I guess that is us as fans.

I guess if we add 65 (my green kool-aid prediction) and 48 (from last year) and divide by two, we will win 56 or 57 games.

Ah, all the pundits in pre-season laugh, sipping on their mint juleps eating tasty cakes in the shade

Ah ,all the pundits in the post-season cry, no one drinking their Kool Aid, they are forced to stand in the light while they eat crow

And a regular season game hasn't even been played........
