If you think Yab's D is bad then Ellenson is probably not the player for you. The knock on him coming out of college is his lack of foot speed and effort on defense.

I see the theory that Yabu has better footspeed, he does. However Yabusele doesn't hardly move unless you give him the ball then suddenly he's all effort.

Draymond Green He is not. He's the opposite of Draymond. He could be good at the selfish scorer role, Just a really odd fit for this team.

Seems like an anti Stevens player.

that is not true. but whatevs

You don't think he plays at least a little lazy?

i mean, i would play a little lazy too if im losing by 30 in a preseason game to the rockets and i have jimmer on my team chucking shots and not passing.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

24 and 12.  Encouraging even if his team is garbage (blown out by 37 points).  How about Fredette with 33 points, 8 assists and 8 rebounds.  Lol.  Is that what happens when you have two semi-pro players play on a team of Chinese guys?

on 50% shooting too (although he was like 0/5 on 3s). he played well, but you could tell he was frustrated with his teammates. i never realized how much worse chinese basketball is

Idk Jimmer kinda rubbed me the wrong way this game. 26 FGA seems a bit much. Yabu have like 12 fga up until the last few minutes.

I'd rather see Yabu play on some Euro team than the one he is currently on.

Jokes aside, Fredette seriously has turned himself into a really good basketball player. Granted it was SL, he really put on a show -- far more versatile offensively. It seems obvious he won't make it in the NBA (i.e., defensive liability; requires high usage rate to be effective), but I'm impressed by his improvement and dedication nonetheless. The guy won't give up the dream. Lol.

Yabu's stat-line suggests he played well, right? What are we missing here, KGLL? The methamphetamine you are using this evening? I was stoked to snag Ellenson at pick #21 in our fantasy league. Hopefully he doesn't rot on the bench behind Harris, Morris, Leuer, and Baynes.

His Defensive awareness is pretty bad. Needs to improve that big-time.

Being an insufficient chucker doesn't make him a better player. 33 pts on 26 shots? That's hardly impressive.

Yabu on the other hand was very efficient with 50% FG on his 24 pts. I was mad everytime Jimmer and that chinese guard chucks the ball.

I didn't watch the game, just saw him in a couple SL games with Denver. He has improved a lot, kind of a poor man's Jeremy Lin. His handle and ability to get to the basket are impressive given all his limitations. I'm a Jimmer fan. He is the King of the D-League.

Looks solid in finishing in the rim. Jump shot looking good too.

Thanks, agreed. If he can be a (less-intense) Draymond Green-type, he'd be really valuable. He's also 20 years old.

OP, the reason we took a stash at 16 was for a shot at Durant. Zeller and Jonas would have been gone in that situation too. Taking Ellenson at 16 would basically have meant no shot at Durant. Whether Ellenson was a better choice is irrelevant.

Unless you didn't want a shot at Durant?
