What Rookie would you trade Olynyk for

Kelly has 1 year remaining on his rookie contract, and I'm not a huge believer in him, so any of the ones listed

I would honestly take any of these. Not a knock on Kelly. It's just I like these guys more. Of course, the other team easily declines.

If I had to choose, I'd probably narrow it down to Murray or Maker

Murray, Poeltl, Chriss.

Not sure that Maker is an NBA player; not sure that Sabonis will ever be as good as Kelly is now.

The others have much higher upside.

I'd do all but Maker. None of those teams would make the trade though. They all have 3 years more control than Kelly at a far lower price

I would take a bunch of guys in this draft over KO, including: the top 7 picks, Denzel Valentine, Malachi Richardson, and Dejounte Murray. Most of those teams would say no to that trade.

I'm not a complete KO hater- I just think that he's a role player, so I would most rather roll the dice on a player with a higher ceiling.

Yeah I did overlook the salary situation. I would trade Kelly Olynyk for an Eric Montross rookie card if it meant we had more money to spend on potential talent, not role players.

Kelly for Dejounte would be a great trade- the Spurs could use another Matt Bonner type in KO. It would give the Celtics another young player with potential to stockpile. Spurs may have just made another good late round pick, similar to Tony Parker.

I still think we are sorely lacking in that critical commodity, Gerald Green notwithstanding.

There is a caveat to this whole thread though: Kelly Olynyk, by himself will never get one of these rookies listed here. Later in the season, you may be able to swing a deal to trade Kelly and one of the number ones for one of the players listed.

Chriss is probably the worst one I'd take. I doubt Sabonis will be as good as Kelly, I'm not a Maker believer, and Poeltl is kind of meh.
