A lot depends on the development of the younger players. The roster hasn't improved as much as I would think considering the assets and cap the team has had. It's a little underwhelming. Still at least they are a playoff team.

 We added Al Horford, Gerald Green, and Jaylen Brown. And lost team Ohio State, Turner and Sully, we are better plain and simple.

It is organized reading left to right, loosely showing who replaced that player's position or slot.
For example, after Rondo exited, IT became the PG.  When Jeff Green left, Jae became the SF.  Thus to make it easier for the reader to make their own judgment about improvement at each slot.  Do you think Amir is an upgrade over Bass or not?  Of course everyone has their opinion.

Do we look better?

This is a good idea. Thanks. The only problem is of course we look better and by a lot.

Nothing stays the same. We as human beings evolve. Smart and Olynyk are graduating from young player status. Bradley has made a huge leap from when Stevens first arrived.

I'll take Thomas and Crowder any day over Rondo and Green at that point in their careers. Thomas is a superstar (at least on offense), but he doesn't display any of the diva element of Rondo/Green. Crowder will either become a great starter or off the bench.

Jeff Green got every chance to be a good player and leader, but he was just wasting space. That was post-operation older Rondo. I am sick of Rondo talk, anyway, although I hope it works out for him the rest of his career. It looks like he is an easy scapegoat. We have Thomas, so who cares?

It's exciting to see if Rozier and Smart can handle pg. Back then Smart was too raw and Bradley was just starting to evolve into a sharpshooter and volume scoring guy.

We also had no center back then if it's said Faverani never really got much of a chance or sucked. We have four centers. They might not be great, but that's 24 fouls to throw at any giant who starts to try to dominate us. I do expect Zeller traded, but who knows.

We used to have Sully and Olynyk or throw in some Zeller for year two, and the offense was somewhat above average actually good, but they couldn't protect anything at the rim.

Amir should have a great year. He had plantar fasciitis which should be about gone for him by now or November. He is gritty and can play center. Olynyk has been kind of sheltered. but maybe he will pick up the pace as a center. Maybe he will come back big and strong this year. We are a top team.

Bass and Humphries were okay, but we had a lousy year one. It had to happen to blow it up and get the Brooklyn picks.

I think you forgot Jordan Crawford.

I realize we made some trades, but it's really hard to believe we actually made the playoffs with that 14-15 team...especially with an undeveloped Smart and KO.

It had to be Brad Stevens to go with good incremental improvement Ainge trades and then Isaiah to cement the end of the rebuild, if rebuild means no playoffs.

I think the Celtics roster is underrated. It is a 55 game winner on paper. With Stevens, maybe we'll win 65 games (barring over the top, bad luck injuries).

as for improvement, we all know this year's roster is better. the real question is by how much.

We're better, Horford is > than Green.  IT is > Rondo.

Horford is a significant upgrade over Sully, and you have to look at player development. All our key players are either in their prime or approaching it, so just based on that you expect to pick up a few wins. The biggest potential downgrade is Turner to Brown, but even this could end up being a sneaky upgrade if Turner's shots end up being taken by more efficient players like Olynyk, Horford, Crowder and Amir.

I'm not so sure that Mickey>Fav (I'd put them even), and Thornton>Hunter hands down.  Brown is a wild card but the way you put it seems about right.  Everything else I agree with, though (and I would add that 2016 Brad > 2015 Brad > 2014 Brad)
