Taking an idea from the homepage. If the Clipper's have a bad season and get bounced in the playoff's again in the firsts two rounds they can decline there player options and sign in Beantown to form a third superteam.

We move Thomas to the bench for one cheap season before we most likely let him walk. That's ok though we can draft a stud point guard like Fultz for the future.

Does this roster compete for a title from day one Like Kg Pp Ra.

 Horford
 Griffin
 Crowder/Brown
 Bradley/Smart
 Chris Paul/ Thomas

That would be one hell of a team! I don't believe it's a realistic scenario,  but I thought the same way about durant and the warriors...

If it happens we're talking about banner 18  ;D

If Brown becomes a revelation...say the best rookie. Then, maybe...

Paul and Griffin do not perform well together. Moreover, Griffin will ask for a max, and Paul's contract is 22 mill until 2017-18. It won't be easy to make the salaries work.

I'd rather have Griffin on his own, provided that his quads are OK.

This.

Griffin and Horford could be a great combo. Girffin and Thomas could also be a nice combo as Griffin is a great playmaker and lets Thomas off the hook in that department a little more. A lineup next year of Thomas, Bradley, Crowder, Griffin, and Horford is a championship caliber lineup, to me. Especially if the bench includes Smart, Brown, Olynyk, and another Top 3 draft pick.

Regardless if the Clips have a good season there is a 100% chance Paul and Griffin opt out.

Griffin will be our number 1 target for sure.

He will likely sign with us after seeing how well we do this year.

Griffin and OKC will meet. Does He want to leave the endorsements he has in LA is the question.

Not a problem. As we all know, Boston is the absolute pinnacle.

What's the fantasy here?  You see how much these stars change teams recently?

Could you explain what you mean by this?  I've never seen anyone else suggest this.

greece might be overstating things a bit, but over the last 3 seasons, both Griffin and Paul have missed big chunks of time with injuries and in both instances, the team doesn't miss a beat despite being at a huge talent deficit when either is out. It suggests that the Clippers play better when they're not playing together.

Doc probably realizes Griffin and Paul don't play that well together, which is why he had thoughts about trading Griffin to the Celtics. But my guess is he was subject to all kinds of west coast pressure not to pull a Kevin McHale. So he backed out.

With the way free agents are operating these days, they all want to go to 2-3 teams. And one of them is not the Celtics. The only way out of that is to have the League do something about it. Like pull the plug on ditching players of your cap to sign a star. If Silver doesn't do anything, it threatens to be a 2 team league. He's got a real problem on his hands.

If Ainge wants a star, he should be going after top players on bad teams--not good teams. The bad teams would be more attracted to those Nets picks and one or two players who might make them better overall in time. He isn't going to get Davis, but there are others out there on bad teams who might deal. I see McLemore is not going to be extended.
