 For the Bulls

 Crowder
 Butler
 Wade
 Rondo

That's something to build around, Crowder and Butler would be a nice combination.

For the Celtics Horford and Portis could be awesome the next few years and Valentine would be awesome in this system. Super smart player that can do it all.

Doug can shoot the lights out. All three players can really shoot it and stretch the floor something this team could really use.

Hurts the defense a little now, but long term it would be a good one.

 Next year.

 Horford, Zizic
Amir, Portis, Yabu
 Brown, Valentine, Doug
 Bradley, Smart, Hunter
 Thomas, Rozier

If we could sign Gordon Hayward, or another nice Free Agent, the roster would be stacked.

We have a ton of players already, we would be half of the D league.

I do not see the Bulls trading Portis.

Don't see them trading Portis? For Crowder? By definition Chicago wins the trade by getting a top 10 SF in the NBA who plays both ends very well.

For me the Combo of Portis and Valentine in two years will be much better than Crowder throw in Doug and I'm in.

We Drafted Jaylen Brown to play SF for the next decade for the Boston Celtics.

Portis is the future PF who has some KG in him, Valentine us the best passer in this draft him or Simmons.

These guys can stretch the floor now.

 Horford
 Kelly
 Portis
 Bradley
 Thomas
 Mcbuckets
 Valentine
 Hunter

That's 8 out of 13 guys that can really knock down three's.

The Bulls would get the best player in the deal, but not at a position of need, since Butler will be playing the 3 with Wade at the 2.  They'd also lost their depth at the 4, which would be an issue with Noah and Pau gone. Add in the fact that we would be losing all of our depth at the 3, and would be making a quality-for-quantity move (the opposite of what we need), and it really doesn't make sense for either side

I guess if you think Portis is guaranteed to be a top PF in the league (which I don't) it could make sense for us, but then it makes no sense for the Bulls.  I honestly don't see any way that something like this happens
I'm bitter.

Bitter Wade is old and just A Band aid for Bulls fans. Crowder is actually younger than Butler.
So you can build around that for five years or more.

And Bobby's Per 36 numbers were 14ppg and 11 rpg as a 20 year old rookie, he's going to be good.

I agree that Wade isn't a long term solution, but as long as he's on the Bulls there's no way they deal for a 2 or 3.  He'll start until he retires (or the Bulls become legit contenders, but that's not likely)

We clearly disagree about how good Portis will be (which is fine).  I don't think it makes sense to trade a top 10 SF for a PF unless they're also going to be top 10 at their position, which is very unlikely for Portis.  I guess if Brown shows some serious promise/NBA readiness this year then that changes, but I'd still rather keep Crowder as a trade chip than gamble on Portis
I'm bitter.

Do you really think Crowder is a top ten SF?  I do not and I will name some names who are better or can make a strong case.

LeBron
Melo
Durant
DeRozan
Leonard
Gay
Thad Young
Wiggins
Greek Freak
Paul George
Gallinari
Carroll
Deng
Hayward
Batum
Butler
Korver

I think they fall off their chair laughing when you say top 10 SF.  I love your enthusiasm but face it, man, they would laugh you out of the building.

No.

Do people understand that the Celtics can only play 5 players at one time?
1957, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1974, 1976, 1981, 1984, 1986, 2008, 2024

 This list is not good.

I'm talking SF here are guys that are not known as SF

 Korver obviously SG
 Wiggins SG
 Derozan SG
 Thad Young PF
Gianni's is a SF but played PG last year.

Crowder is a better Two way player than Gay IMO.

Crowder is better than Carrol no doubt.

Crowder is better than Deng and Gallo at this point.

I agree with you on the others

You listed 16 players and I eliminated 8, Crowder is about the 10th best SF in the league right now.

That trade is the opposite of what we need do.  We need to be the team trading 3 fair prospects for the best player in the trade.  Crowder is a top 10 small forward.

How can you list two guys from the same team that start as sfs? :o
Also in addition to being a shooting guard, most people would laugh anyone
suggesting Korver is a better player than Crowder out of the building. He is 35 years old and was not very athletic to begin with. Saying he is better than a 25 year old Crowder is just insulting. Also Gallo has played like  over 60 games once in the last 40 seasons (and even then it was 71). You would rather have 50-60 games of Gallo than crowder? If you want a realistic list and want to only include small forwards this is a bit more realistic. I think around 10th in the best small forward is pretty realistic for him.

LeBron
Melo
Durant
Leonard
Wiggins
Paul George
Hayward
Batum
Butler

LeBron yes 1
Melo yes 2
Durant yes 3
DeRozan SG
Leonard yes 4
Gay c'mon
Thad Young PF and c'mon
Wiggins I'm this kid's biggest fan, but I'd rather have Crowder for this C's team, Wiggy plays ZERO defense
Greek Freak PG
Paul George yes 5
Gallinari always injured
Carroll c'mon
Deng very debatable
Hayward yes 6
Batum yes, but close 7
Butler was a SG, but slots as SF next year, yes 8
Korver at this point we're name-dropping SGs

So i counted 8 SFs that are noticeably better than Crowder. The rest are either out of position, around the same tier but worse in my opinion, or around the same tier but not fitting the trajectory of the team (Deng, Wiggins, etc.). When you account for Crowder's age, locker-room presence, playing style, and contract, there are only 5 or 6 SFs I'd rather have than him.

Several of these guys are objectively worse than Crowder, and several others aren't even small forwards.
