Jaylen Brown was taken at #3 to replace Crowder.  A major deal (predicting Boogie), if it has any chance of happening, will include Crowder. I'd guess that aside from IT, or even at the same level of IT, Crowder may be the most enticing guy to potential trade partners. Especially if DA is really wed to IT (no idea, but I'd about it).

If we trade for any star player the trade will probably include AB or Jae. Shame, I love those guys but if you have the chance to upgrade your roster, you do it. And DA knows that. If that happens I hope we do it for a guy like Cousins (warrior) not a guy like Griffin (actor).

Drunk on a Monday? Count me in. We took Brown because he was Ainge's and Steven's Binkie, and he's crazy athletic, wil be able to guard anyone, and offers more Upside than Crowder at a crucial position in the league.

To think Ainge was going to give up 5 picks for Winslow, and Brown has much more Upside, is a big win for the Celtics.

The sobering thing is that Crowder will never get you Counsins without a gazillion picks.  Treating him as a centerpiece for a deal, should wake you up this Tueday.

If an offer is based around Crowder then the starting point would have to include KO and Rozier as well as Amir to match salaries. We'd have to take back a less favourable contract, perhaps Gay? He may have to be redirected to a third team. We'd also need to have the BRK 18 pick in there as well as another decent first.

In the end I imagine we'd have to give up both BRK picks, the Clips pick, a few 2nds, Rozier, Crowder, Amir, KO and get Boogie and McLemore in return as an example.

One trade I could see happening would involve Gay heading to NO and Evans coming our way. Totally dependent on how NO is doing but if Hield develops well and they are pushing for the playoffs then it could work well for them. We'd send out the same players + Mickey to NO and get back Boogie and Evans.

sign me up for that

As long as Rudy is headed else where

I would def miss crowder and ko, but if that's the price for a legit superstar, then I think you go for it

Horford and Boogie would run through the east
I trust Danny Ainge

I think it's a given that both BKN picks would be involved. And I'd prefer to keep those picks.

tarheels, you put up your post at 3:39am so your were inebriated on a Tuesday not a Monday.  I can forgive that mistake given your drunken state, but I couldn't help but read your post with a slobbery slur.

Haha. Unsure if that was a blatant insult or not, but TP for a humorous comment. In my defense, I was celebrating an exciting milestone. But I'm rereading this as a sloppy mess too. Hopefully I don't become the forum lush :)

Thank you, sir. It was publication of a research study. Took a long time. Maybe the delayed gratification lends itself to impulsive debauchery...

Or, as Surferdad suggests, it could just have been a celebration of the drinking itself. :)

I'll predict it started off as the former, shifted to the latter, & culminated in a thread re: a theoretical trade of Crowder that made little to no sense.
