At this point, somebody on this Blog needs to step in and define the term "Rumor" for me. None of these 'rumors' ever look sourced to me. None of this is real media.

Everything you're saying is consistent with being a rumor though.  Rumors are rarely true, often spread by word of mouth (or the Internet equivalent) and have little if any backing by evidence.  But they're fun to discuss and once in a great while turn out to be accurate.  That's how they work.

This one is sourced to a podcast from Zach Lowe and Marc Stein of ESPN.  That said, I haven't listened to the podcast to determine how much is people spitballing ideas and how much is coming from their anon. sources.

I listened to it yesterday all they said was that the 2 most likely teams to make a deal were Boston and Denver, Denver's been trying to get someone to bite on Faried, any team interested would likely consider Faried a bench player since his salary is now around 1st big off the bench level.

Anything else was just connecting the dots...

Doesn't make sense for the Celtics. If we can't trade for a star we want to have cap space to sign one next year. Faried's salary would prevent that.

I agree with that but it would help our rebounding problem out, his contract is actually affordable now and I think him and Horford would work well together.  Would suck to miss out on a free agent next year though if Hayward or Blake wanted to play here.
the celtics ranked FIFTH in the nba last season is rebounds per game. which problem are you referring to please?

But if you look at rebounding percentage, which takes into account both pace and the fact that Celtics games featured a lot of missed shots from both teams, they are 18th.  They didn't get dominated on the boards (getting 49.4% of them), but it certainly wasn't a team strength, and there is certain room for improvement.

true. but i doubt CBS considers this to be as much a problems as an area for improvement.

EDIT: i just checked on nba team rebound percentage and found the celtics at 23rd. however, they are less than one percentage point from being #12. so, moving up the rebound % ladder might not be too difficult to start with.  ;D

i am not sure why the number of posts here at cb is an indicator of veracity, as opposed to being an indicator of how long someone has been here.

as an example, would someone with my over abundance of posts and lack of social life look with doubt upon your posts since you have less than 1,000 of them? i dont think so.

Ko for Faried? No way. I still think KO will be a sixth man candidate . Bright future.

Looking at rebounds per game is an awful way to judge how a team rebounds.  They were 23rd in team rebounding percentage and lost their highest contributor to that stat in Sully.
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

CBS doesn't consider rebounding to be a problem because it isn't a problem at all.  There is basically no correlation between rebounding %'s and winning games in the NBA currently.  There are far more important things like defending FG attempts, help defense, spacing and shooting that actually are difference makers.  Kenneth Faried adds none of the above.  There is a 0% chance the Celtics should be interested in him or any other team for that matter, thus Denver wanting to unload him.

You don't need to worry about that.  The salaries don't come close to working, so it would have to be Amir that the Celtics would trade, not Olynyk.  It's almost certainly not happening in either case, but definitely not with KO.

I'm not a big fan of the Manimal but he can rebound, he can fly and fast.
He would suddenly help the team "fly around"
Kelly for Faried sign me up, they can get young and Hunter too for all I care.
