Revisiting the Rondo trade , Powell was a throw-in that enabled us to get the pick which turned out to be Yabo

Would we have been better of with Powell?

Yabu at rookie salary, versus 37 million for Powell, and what about crowder?!?!

Powell was added because it was the only way to make the roster work.  We could have cut him instead, but instead we traded him and git a 2nd rounder.  I'd much rather have Crowder (who would probably been cut out of the deal if we wanted to keep Powell) and whoever we got with the 2nd (Jackson? I don't know, but it hardly matters) than Powell
I'm bitter.

tbh I thought Powell would have left the NBA by now; with this in mind he is doing much better than expected.

Having said this, he is anything but impressive: averaging 14.4 mpg and 5.8 ppg in a team with a depleted bench

But our very own yabusele may not be with us next season.   :(

Per source, Guerschon Yabusele's status will depend on whether Celtics open roster spots w/a trade. If no trade, he's going overseas.

Yabusele still could go overseas even if there is a trade, too, but that is scenario in which he could possibly stay.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

good read about Yab

The writer obviously didn't watch him play defense. He's not even close to NCAA Division III standards in that regard. With so many bonafide players available at 16 there is no way he listened to his advisers/scouts. However, if Yaba was a consensus pick on Danny's staff, then changes need to be made ASAP.

Honestly, do you feel Danny has the right people on his scouting staff? I think he needs to bring in new talent.

Ya you've probably cornered the market in how I view the situation. I'd rather have Dwight Powell at his current number than Yabu...but!

I'd rather have Danny loaded up with assests around draft time than anything. Retaining Powell at that number would be cashing in on an option that your likely to be able to find. Best to push that decision until later in the final stages of the rebuild.

For starters, Yabu will just turn 20 this year, Powell on the other hand will turn 25 this year.

or DA and his staff (including Stevens who has a say in these picks) really like what they saw in Yab and add the fact that they needed a stashable player, puts him in the top of their list. DA picking another stash in 23 solidifies the argument that at the first round, they were looking for stash options.
