Okay, everyone, it's time to issue report cards ;D. Based on what we've seen, who, if anyone, earned an A, who crapped the bed, who needs to attend summer school, who should switch careers, who gets an incomplete, and who performed at or above grade level, etc.?  Rank as many of our players as you want, in the manner of your choosing (for example, a's, b's, and c's, etc., are fine for this exercise), although I think it's safe to say on behalf of James Young -

;D.

Top Students:
1. Rozier - best player on the SL squad. He hasn't shown much play making but he's definitely worthy of being in the rotation
2. Brown - the future is bright! I really like what I've seen from him. He also deserves a rotation spot, IMO. He still needs to work on developing consistency in his shot.
3. Nader - great motor. Being taken at the end of the 2nd round, he's played well enough to be considered for a guaranteed contract, either on this team or another. Well done!

Dropouts/Repeaters:
1. Thornton - rarely did anything positive on either end of the floor
2. Young - at least he could shoot but remains a sieve on D
3. Hunter - a slightly better Young, but still unimpressed

B Students:
1. Yabusele - I like his game. He needs more time but I think he'll be a solid player
2. Mickey - a strong showing in SL. Seems more like a 4 rather than a 5 though.

I must have missed that, lol ;D. I also think that the hard times of RJ Hunter ;) ;D was solid on both ends and actually made his shots, which is a good sign, but yeah, Thornton and Young both need to go.  Like a long time ago, haha.

Didn't he pick up a couple of double doubles along with a couple of blocks? Seems like a solid enough performance. Nothing to write home about though :P

I guess, but for the most part he was pretty underwhelming, imo :-\.

A
Rozier - cant wait to see him running real sets with the Real team... Good showing though.
Brown - As advertised. Quick, Athletic, steady defender.. Improved every time out.. Needs the Marcus smart starter kit treatment (throw him in the fire)
Nadar - Huge Surprise.. Toughness, aggressive, good but not great at everything.. JJ Clone.

B.
The Dancing bear - Unique size and agility.. Needs defensive work and a bit more gas in the motor.. He plays hard and seems to burn out fast but there could be worst things for a young guy. He can shoot it, he can screen and he can finish with power..

C.
Hunter - Average at everything which is an improvement from last years Summer league.. He is a smart player who may just need other seasoned players around him to look better.

Young - Confident shooting and improved on defense from horrifying to just bad... NBA players will slaughter him.. Provides nothing but shooting but that happens to be just what we need.. Last chance.

D. (league)
Bentile - Good stroke but for a big man, no rebounding, no defense, no toughness not enough shooting..

Mickey (my dark horse)- looked better last year in the Dleague. I know its harder for Bigs to show anything in SL so there's that.. Missed to many bunnies. Seemed alot slower than I thought he would be..  not effective against bigger guys (bad for a big) reminded me of Whiteside on D minus the elite shot-blocking..  Really hoping that he will look better with the big boys running big boy stuff.  Also wondering if the shoulder was bothering him.. Just didn't seem like what I thought he would be..

Jackson - Cant give an F to a 1st yr rook... Just looked uncomfortable most of the time..  I think the pressure of trying to show he belongs got to him.. There is something there but not enough.

F.
Thornton - Overseas helped him not at all..

Brown- A
Rozier- A-
(we can really stop here, because these to me were the two key guys on the summer roster and both passed the test)

Yabusele- B (offensively really good and they weren't making any special efforts to get him the ball.  Defensively & Rebounding wise...he still needs a lot of work.  But he showed why Danny drafted him I'd say)

Nader- B+ (best surprise I thought)

Hunter- C  (defense is still a big problem)

Bentil- D (did nothing though he didn't get a lot of minutes)

Jackson- F  (I'm not sure I'd even bring him to camp.  Couldn't advance the ball as a PG, poor passer, got schooled way too often defensively and didn't shoot it all that well - other than that he was good...)

Young- D  (hit a few shots, that's it - a candidate to be moved before training camp though he has no value so he'd have to be bought out or a throw in on a trade)

Mickey- C-  (had some moments, but not enough of them, poor hands and the C's got killed by the bigger front lines)

Miller- C+  (started strong, tailed off)

Thornton-  D+  (the one thing he showed - and he did it tonight - is an ability to get to the basket.  He's fairly explosive which I'm guessing is what Danny saw in him because if he can ever combine that with his alleged shooting ability, he might turn into a serviceable player eventually.  Game is suited for the current NBA so I'd say he winds up with Maine.  But other than that he didn't do anything)
