Interesting piece written back at the trade deadline this past February related to Griffin. They said 5 out of 10 chance he is traded in the summertime.
http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2016/2/15/11001052/blake-griffin-trade-rumors-la-clippers-nba-2016Interesting that 2 of 3 big men we have been going after and supposedly available in trades are players who had off the field incidents that demonstrated their lack of personal control. Hitting his " friend" that works for the team and breaking his hand as a result, is not the best selling point. We know Okafor's off the court problems as well. Both also had injuries that plagued them this past year. That is a big concern that the Clippers are ready to move on from him due to everything from this past year. The stats they list in that article mention their defense was better with him off the floor this past year and he only resulted in a slight increase in point production while playing.
On a different note, a healthy Griffin who does not attack the team personnel could be a huge boom to our offense and definitely balance well with Horford and a team that has a strong defense to balance his deficiencies on that end of the floor. Maybe it would help balance our team but I have always been afraid of players with bad control(fighting, partying, drug problems) off the court. I guess it is not a coincidence that those players are usually the only type's of stars that are available for a trade. Not many teams wants to trade their shiny, dependable Rolls Royces...
I guess if we can keep our picks(doubtful), taking a chance on him flourishing under Stevens is a good risk. He does have an opt out after this coming season so we need to make sure he would want to resign with us, especially if we give up the Brooklyn 2018.
Personally, I enjoy rumor threads and this is definitely news. No need to attack other for voicing their opinion or getting excited about them. A rumor is just that..a rumor and this one has been out there and tied to our team before this summer began.
