SMall bit of @celtics news ... Still looking for shooters, source said they reached out to free-agent Chase Budinger.

This is the kind of move that drives me crazy. Continuing to bury players that have a chance to become really good assets for a few more wins now. I don't want brown, smart or anyone else with any promise losing minutes to freaking budinger. But who knows. maybe there's a trade going down.

He's not a good enough of a shooter for this to make that much sense.

Maybe it's a precursor to the expected "big" move where we deal off several pieces.

This inquiry has to be about crossing t's and dotting i's in the event Crowder is included in any deal. Unless that domino falls, I don't expect Budinger or any other veteran SF signing. The C's really might be on the precipice of a deal.

Budinger would be an interesting reclamation project for Stevens.

When George came back, he got buried in the depth chart in Indy. Both his FG% and FT% dropped.

When they dealt him to Phoenix, there was only a month left in the season.

If we have to fill some holes for outgoing players in a trade, he wouldn't be that bad a signing on an ET-type make -good contract.

I know that we can always use shooters but we have so many players that we have drafted that I'd like to see them battle it out to make it onto the roster and become part of the rotation.

Exactly.  Budinger means Crowder is on the table.  Makes sense if Crowder goes to Sacramento, Gay to Clippers, Griffen to us.  Add picks and filler to make the deal work.  Get it done!

He's a 35% career shooter from three. And that's driven down by an inexplicably awful 15-16 campaign...

Budinger is not going to start. Kicking the tires on Budinger means we are looking for more insurance for Crowder, because Brown isn't really ready.
