I agree giving up anything of value for a guy who is going to disrupt our team and may leave us is silly. I also don't trust Westbrook as far as long term with his style of play. He's not derrick rose bad but he is injury prone and as he ages it will probably get worse.

He's been surprisingly healthy the last couple of years and is due to have a letdown year imo.

The difference is Westbrook is on steroids so he bounces back faster than Rose.

i think the only time i feel happy to cash in everything would be for (As much as i hate/respect that guy) Lebron and none other lol XD

Lebron James?  On the Celtics?  The Boston Celtics?  Absolutely no way.  Not ever.  That would be like Kobe joining the Celtics.  Or Kareem.  Eff no!

Lol you wouldn't want LBJ on the celtics? Are you insane? Obviously it would never happen but if there was a chance you could never say no.

Russell Westbrook is not injury prone. You can not want the guy on your team without resorting to making things up about him.

Ainge will not give up any meaningful assets unless Westbrook agrees to extension. Would be insanity otherwise.

He's not signing one. That hasn't happened with a UFA since Carmelo Anthony was traded from Denver and the CBA rules were VERY different then with extend-and-trades.

3 of his last 5 years he's been hurt.  2 separate injuries that carried over but he was healthy last year. he tore up his knee and had 3 knee surgeries.

Yup.  There's about 0 chance we aren't looking into getting Westbrook (like every other young star that may be available) and about 0 chance we aren't going to lowball like crazy without long-term assurances (official or not)

...I'm pretty moderate on Westbrook here, but the problem is I'd be reluctant to trade for him before I see how he does post-Durant.  I'm concerned he's something of an empty numbers guy who hasn't really been exposed yet due to his superstar teammate.  I'd definitely prefer Cousins here and probably Blake as well.

Keep the Brooklyn picks and wait for Philly to cave.

We could do a Harden style raise-and-extend with any of Westbrook/Blake/Cousins, right?  Cap space permitting of course, but we've still got 10-12 million if we match salaries in a trade.  Agreement could be in place without it formally being part of the deal.

Not here, apparently. After reading someone's post that Blake Griffin is a fringe all star (even though the guy's been a perennial All-NBA selection and a perennial All-Star in the Western Conference) pretty much convinced me that people will make up whatever they want to support their stance.

3 of his last 5 years he's been hurt.  2 separate injuries that carried over but he was healthy last year.

Both of his injuries were of the freak nature. Patrick Beverley crashing into your knee while going for a steal when you're calling a timeout doesn't make you injury prone. Breaking your hand once while going for a rebound doesn't make you injury prone. The dude didn't miss a single game dating back to junior high school until the Beverley incident.

He also broke his face.  It does make him injury prone actually.   I'm not makng anything up.  He had 3 surgeries on his knee as well.

I hate to brake it to some but everyone in the NBA is probably juicing.

I'd flip if we got Westbrook. Who wants to win more than this guy? He's an animal. Love , love him.

It doesn't. To me, injury prone is Derrick Rose or Brandon Roy with chronically bad knees. Or Steph Curry with his ankles.

... he broke his face and missed a single game. Your point? It was as serious an injury as slightly spraining your ankle or tweaking your back, in the grand scheme of things.

And his three surgeries were all related to the Beverley incident. He didn't have three surgeries for three separate injuries.
