So Brown ended up with 25 pts on 8-16 fgs, 9 rebs, 1 ast, 2 stl, 8-11 free throws with three turnovers over 25 minutes. Pretty good performance.
Yeah, but we should have drafted Dunn according to many impatient fans.
This kid can fill up a stat sheet despite his rawness. He is going to be a very good player. Needs to cut back on that spin move though.
Dunn is a hell of a player.
I'm starting to feel good about Brown again, but given a draft do-over I'd still take Dunn. Though its no by as significant a margin as it was on draft day.
With his athletic and defensive potential, Brown could be a top 10/15 player in the league if it all pans out for him. He's going to get to the rim at will at the NBA level, and a halfway decent jumpshot could get him near 20 PPG with proper usage. If he develops an average 3 point shot, ala Jimmy Butler, he could be an All-NBA caliber player. If he doesn't, he will still be able to carve our a role as a hyper-athletic defensive wing who can generate points by getting to the line. Dunn, on the other hand, looks like a lock to be AT LEAST a Jeff Teague, Kyle Lowry type borderline all-star level talent, with the potential to he even more.
But if you wanna know why Ainge didn't pick Dunn, there it is. If everything goes right for both of them, Brown has the higher ceiling. We need superstars. Brown has more potential to be that than Kris Dunn, even though Dunn is less likely to be a "role-player".
