Blake Griffin doesn't make any sense on this team. He reminds me of Stoudamire just when the Knicks signed him. He will not last much longer because he relies so much on his athleticism. Would rather go hard after Boogie who can make an impact on both ends.

Meh. I don't want Blake on this team. He'll make the team redundant if Danny intends to play Horford at the PF, which may have been a big reason why we were able to sign him in the first place. Go for Boogie or make Amir play Center or get a slight upgrade at 5. I just can't see him fitting into Brad's system either. Or the Celtics' culture for that matter. Boston is a sports town, not a place for you to make KIA commercials.

This is just turd in a punch bowl thinking. First of all Horford Is a Center. Second you don't want to add Blake who is nearly a 20/10/5 guy, does that sound Familiar?

Those are KG numbers minus the all world defense, Oh, and He's 26. Kg was 31 when we got him. Your a moron if you don't want Blake.

I say mehhhhhh to Griffin.

This idea that every player we bring in will be better under Brad's system is really speculative. It is one thing to improve a player that you gained during his development years, than getting a player like Griffin who is set in his ways. The NBA is a funny business, just last year Griffin was helping the Lakers rescue DJ from Cuban in Dallas, and now he is about to be shipped to Boston.

I don't like Griffin, but if Danny can heist Rivers more power to him.

Complete nonsense.

But hey, someone who was "connected" to the Cs said we're getting Kevin Durant, too. I can hardly wait to see what next week's "rumor" is.

Why anybody thinks that Doc would trade Blake Griffin for Jae Crowder and a couple draft picks is beyond me.

Doc would want players.  He'd definitely want Bradley in the package.

If Doc steps down as coach and just focuses on his GM job then I can see it. Otherwise I agree , as a coach he loves to play vets into the ground. No way he would want to trade Griffin for rookies. As a GM though he sucks so I can see him thinking its a good rebuild move.

I don't know if these guys have real sources, but I think there are real talks going on about Cousins and Griffin.

I'm concerned about Griffin's medicals. He had some sort of marrow transplant procedure on a tendon giving him trouble. I would assume his option would be picked up as part of the deal.

Given the choice of Cousins and the 17 pick, or Griffin and the 18 pick, I would take Cousins.

That assumes they give up one of Bradley, Crowder or Smart.

I would also take Griffin if his medicals were OK, and his option was picked up.

In either case, it's a win. To me, it uses those picks the way they should be used. To get a star on a team that is on the cusp of contention.

Isn't it Doc negotiating with Danny on this one?

Would be hilarious is Doc gifts us Blake after McHale gifting us KG.

Yeah, and he'll probably throw in Pierce to boot.

I think Doc wants Bradley and Gay on his team because he liked having small ball lineups surround Deandre Jordan.

I would gladly take Blake or Boogie.  Screw the picks.  Picks are stupid.  Try to hold onto guys that can actually play.

At one time Blake was a pick...Boogie too. Would it have been stupid to pick up those picks?
Those guys are ready now.  There's already enough guys on the team that are projects.  We have the #3 pick in the draft that doesn't even know how to shoot.  I would rather go with a sure thing then rely on stupid ping pong balls again.  Those have been really good to us.

Kobe un-retiring and joining the Celtics to put up 60 points per night.

Agreed. Doubt many teams would want to trade for Griffin without a guarantee that he'll resign next year, too.

But why would Griffin resign in SAC? Is your reference to "option" a guarantee that he will resign? If so, that makes sense. I'd imagine only a few teams in contention in true.

I'd guess 2 of Bradley, Crowder, Smart and one BKN pick. They seems like an overpay, but I doubt these guys are moved unless their winning the trade. But it is the Kings...

First of all, I think it goes without saying we all would prefer Boogie to Blake.  He's just a better player, and thus would be more expensive to obtain.  That's the easy part.

I get Blake has his warts, but he's just 2 years removed from playing like the 3rd best player in the league during the playoffs.  If we can land him for "just" the price of a player or 2, I think I'd be all for it.  Can't give up any picks to land him though.  Not with coming off 2 (techinically 3) serious injuries in a single year and as a guy that relies way too much on his athleticism (although his game has become infinitely more well rounded as compared to when he came into the league).

For now though we need to hold on to as many assets as we can and I think this includes chasing Boogie.  Let Sacto open up the bidding and declare he's on the market first.  I say this because there's a bigger, more valuable fish to obtain out there even to Boogie.  And that's Westbrook.  I know it's a pipe dream of pipe dream, but he's the type of guy we built all the assets up for in the first place.  Just sit and wait.  Add Blake if he comes "cheap", and then see what happens with the 2 massively larger dominos in Boogie and Russ.

I don't doubt Blake would make us a lot more difficult to beat. ECF would probably be possible... but only if we don't gut the roster. Maybe overpay a bit re: picks (though not both BKN), but not 2/3 of those guys.

Our core of role players, despite being role players, are absolute beasts. They may be why it ends up being very tough for us to land a star. Letting them go would remove the core and identity of the team that just won 48 games without one.

But, why not wait and see if Bradley and Crowder have similar seasons next year, or at least halfway through. They could probably increase their value if other FOs believe they'd be valuable additions to their team.
