I get that he's undersized, but why hasn't Bentil got more playing time? It's only summer league. It's not like these games mean anything. He was one of the most dynamic scorers in college basketball last season yet he only played 5 minutes on Sunday night. Marcus Thorton for crying out loud got double the amount of minutes. What am I missing? Why isn't he playing more?? Lets at least see what Bentil can bring to the table. Lets give him starter minutes for a game and lets see what he can do.

Maybe they want to stash him in Maine and don't want to expose that he can help a team now and risk having him signed away?

Because if the Celtics use both Brooklyn picks to get Cousins, they'll need Bentil to be the centerpiece of a Blake Griffin trade. They don't want Sacramento to insist on him first. Or if the trade for Griffin doesn't go down they'll be counting on Bentil to recruit Westbrook next summer. It's really a smart move not to overplay him now.

He hasn't played much in Vegas because Jamie Young has no idea how rotations should work

We have his rights, so a team can't sign him out from under us (whether playing in Maine or overseas)
I'm bitter.

In the minutes he has played he's been underwhelming so far.

While I agree he has not impressed me on the defensive side, I think he has been solid on offense. With that said, it's tough to get your offense going when you play a total of 5 minutes a game. Again, he average over a 20 points a game in the Big East. He is a legit scorer. At least give him a shot. Let him play 25 minutes and lets see what he can do. We just got blown out on Sunday night without playing him, what's the worst that can happen if we play him?

This is a joke right?  Bentil won't be any kind of centerpiece.

Because, while he has scored some, he hasn't been able to rebound or shown the ability to do the little things defensively. Particularly in the last game, when he came in the defense suffered and the offense was not smooth (could be more to do with guard play).

Here is description for him. He is a talented scorer, but a wild horse. He does not have the feel to play in team concepts, especially on defense. He is great in pickup ball. If he raises his IQ and plays with his team, he could be a good role player (ala Mike Scott).

You forgot to say you were being ironic. Some guys might believe you were serious that Bentil would be a centerpiece for Griffin trade or important to recruit Westbrook here.

I think it's because the Celtics a) own his rights and b) already know they won't sign him to play on the team this year. So there's no urgency to get a good look at Bentil. He'll sign with some other league and do his developing over there until the C's feel they have a need for him.

Not ironic, sarcastic.

Perhaps because all Bentil does is jack shots.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I mean, they have to give someone since Mickey is untouchable in a Griffin or Cousins deal...

Bentil could make roster for several teams - maybe even get minutes for the nets

I have said from day 1 he was trade bait - because I don't see a path for minutes with celts

If he gets less than 20 mins tonight it would be a good question for reporter to ask

"What's up with bentil?"

He stinks. Bentil is a 6'7 pf.  Not explosive nor has a longspan

He will do ok in europe or china
