So where does Rj Hunter and James young end up??
Numbers crunch on team, neither setting world on fire in summer league
I think we should keep Young, and trade Hunter.
As much as people hate on Young, he's younger, is faster, and has a better chance of reaching his ceiling than Hunter, who literally just looks slow in every aspect of the game.
Except for, you know, passing, lol.
The thing is I'm not convinced Hunter will be anything better than Young, either. Hunter is 23, and Young is still 20. Arguments can be made for both to be 86'ed, no complaints with me, although I still think Young has the better chance to survive in the NBA due to being faster, younger, great stroke with a higher release point versus Hunter's; and defensive versatility with the perfect size/build to play SG/SF.
People say he looked lost, and I disagree. While Hunter clearly looked like the better player than Young last summer league, I would argue Young has shown more than Hunter in my eyes this years summer league.
I think that Young is actually slower than Hunter, he still can't even dribble with his strong hand, lol, and his defense, a poke away or two notwithstanding, is still awful. The most consistent thing about James Young thus far has been that he's changed his hairdo every game, even on off days. The guy just doesn't care - you can see it in his body language. At least Hunter got into it with Booker and blocked his shot, and he sure makes a lot of great passes, out there, while Young has only done so once in this regard, iirc. The age thing doesn't matter to me. It would be one thing if Young had shown noticeable improvement in any facet of his game, even just in terms of effort, but by and large, he's still the same player that he was in 2014, unfortunately. Sigh. That line by Daugherty about Young's nose ring was priceless, lol
