No, the BKN picks are untouchable.

If you have Blake Griffin or Demarcus Cousins on the table - the Brookn picks absolutely are not untouchable.

I would give up both Brooklyn picks AND Jaylen Brown in a heartbeat if it would get me Demarcus Cousins.

A talent like Cousins comes around maybe 3 or 4 times in a decade. The last time we saw a talent of that caliber come out of the Draft it was Anthony Davis some 3 years ago.  Good luck trying to pull a player that good out of a pair of 60 player drafts.

I mean think about it - these are the guys taken at #1 over the past 10 years:

* Karl Anthony Towns
* Andrew Wiggins
* Anthony Bennett
* Anthony Davis
* Kyrie Irving
* John Wall
* Blake Griffin
* Derek Rose
* Greg Oden
* Andrea Bargnani

There are only three guys on that list who are arguably on par with Cousins in terms of talent - Derek Rose, Blake Griffin and Anthony Davis.  The only one who you can say is clearly a better prospect then Cousins is Davis.

So that's three #1 picks over the past 10 years who are as talented as Cousins, and only one who is more talented.

We have two Brooklyn picks ('17 and '18) - even if we knew for certain that we are going to get the #1 pick in both drafts, that gives us maybe a 60% chance of pulling a talent comparable to Cousins, and about a 10% chance of pulling a talent better then Cousins.  We don't, however, have the guaranteed #1 picks.   The team who finishes last rarely gets the #1 pick.  Philly did that this year.  The chance of it happening two years in a row?  Very slim.  The chance of it happening three years in a row?  Almost impossible.  Even if Brookly finishes last for the next two seasons, we'd be lucky to get one #1 pick out of it.

To put it simply, our probability of getting a player as good as Cousins from those Nets picks is slim.  Our chance of getting a player better then Cousins is minuscule.  If I can deal both of those picks and get Cousins in return, I'll do it every time.

I don't think Boogie is on the market yet I think we gotta wait till the February deadline for him.

K... I read some of his tweets.  If I'm reading this idiot correctly, he's claiming that the offer for cousins/Blake is Amir + Jerebko + Zeller and the holdup is whether or not we'll include a 1st or 2nd rounder.

Quote
"LA wanted those 3 & '17 1st. #Celtics said no. There were offers asking for Mickey too that were decline as well"

C'mon.   A few days ago we were fully prepared to just let Amir, Jerebko and Zeller to walk for nothing.  We're gonna avoid giving up Jordan Mickey and a 1st rounder for Blake Griffin?

Ridiculous.

I keep saying stop falling for all this media hype. I don't even think it's the media its just some idiot tweeting over his twitter account. But if its on the internet it must be true 😨

No, it would still be 25%, like it is every year. Math is math. The rest is.....also math.

.25 x .25 x .25 = .0156 or 2%

2% is now synonymous with nearly impossible.

Global warming is fake.

I know Doc loves Smart, guessing it could look like this:

LAC gets both BKL picks, Smart, Rudy Gay
SAC gets Crowder or maybe Bradley
BOS gets Blake

Seems fair.  LAC can stay in the hunt and also get those picks to rebuild with.  Don't forget that they always seem to play well when Blake is hurt, and desperately need help defending on the wing.  SAC is probably the hold up, guessing.  Vlade strikes me as a pretty disengaged guy.

Looks to me like LA is robbing us in that deal.

Yeah, it'd be one thing if Blake was signed long term, but I wouldn't give up Smart, Crowder or Bradley, AND both Brooklyn picks for a one year rental
I'm bitter.

The rumors say Crowder. Doubt they'll deal Bradley or Smart, too. Too much of a hit on D.
The Celtics draft picks figure in here--between Kings and Clips. Plus cap fodder. Pierce would probably come, too, for the min.

I don't think we get anything done for a guy like Blake Griffin unless LAC felt really good about the return.  We'd still have plenty of depth, behind the IT/Blake/Horford trio.

Could be a contender?

Any information not from Woj/a few of the other accredited media sources is worthless.
