Jaylen Brown will end up, 90% sure, as a poor man's Kawhi Leonard. 15 pts, 5 reb, 3 ast. There is a 10% chance he could become close to Kawhi, as good as Kawhi, or slightly better imo.

The qualities that make him relatively high ceiling- NBA ready body at 19, intelligence, attitude, defensive ability (except that he seems to fall for pump fakes too often) and athleticism.

The quality that could make him a bust: has very little feel for the game.

His shooting is nothing to worry about folks. He will never be elite shooter, but he doesn't have any hitches in his shot and his form is pretty good. He has already improved that shot since his time in Cali and by the time he is 22-23 he should be a good shooter.

However, the feel definitely worries me. It ends up in lack of control, bad passes, bad shot decisions, etc.

He's fast with straight line speed like Jeff Green, but I'm unsure myself yet if he has excellent lateral quickness with the ball.

The knee may be costing him some lateral quickness, but if you watched him run down the floor he is very much gazelle-like -- long strides got him down the court faster than the guys near him -- even wirh the knee problem.  I think he's plenty fast.

Lots of "slippery" hands by lots of Celtics last night.  I think the size of the Bulls SL team was intimidating.  I think C's felt pressure to use their quickness to counteract Chicago's size and the result was sloppiness throughout most of the game.

Ya know who else is 19 years old and plays for the Celtics...James young.  Just sayin

Yes and with this being his 3rd year James Young looks more lost, less aggressive and weaker on defense than Jaylen!  Just sayin, both 19, not sure what you r sayin?

Actually, wouldn't Jaylen be the exact opposite of this analysis - a low floor, high ceiling guy? He has all of the physical tools to make it work, and he'll come in being one of the best overall athletes in the  game as a rookie. Beyond his hops, his lateral quickness and foot speed look to be off the charts, and he's going to be able to get past almost all defenders to get to the rim.

He has all the tools to become a superstar in this league, but the question is whether or not he'll be able to put them all together. That seems like the definition of a lower floor, high ceiling guy to me.

Seems weird when Brown gets credit for intelligence when his basketball intelligence is low.  I don't think it matters if he is a genius off the court.

You can criticize the Brown pick, but "low-ceiling" isn't the criticism I'd go for. Brown is incredibly explosive with prototypical size for a wing, and his game doesn't have any debilitating flaws--nothing that can't be improved upon at least in theory. He isn't a great shooter, but tons of guys improve as shooters in the NBA. Overall his stats weren't good in college, so it's fair to be concerned about him, but there's definitely a nonzero chance that he turns into a multi-year all star.

justin winslow should be your bench mark this season-also jaylen will adapt and he looks the type to play better with the big boys-he is trying to hard

I very much agree with your trying too hard comment!  He feels the responsibility of being the 3 pick and is trying too hard to live up to it -- I think he just needs to put in the work and listen to the teachers, coaches, experienced players --

Its really more about handles than lateral quickness, as you call it.  And his handles can use a little work but he's got a good base.  He is also pretty good at navigating through traffic, which tells me he's athletic beyond the straight line speed.

And as I said, he's a quick twitch guy.  He shook a couple of guys yesterday with ease with simple crossovers.

Brown's knee was clearly bothering him. When he missed that easy dunk at the end of the game, it was obvious.

He will be fine once healed.  I don't think they should play him the rest of summer league. Let him rest up.

I was just thinking he could grow more. Imagine if he grew another 2 inches? He could be Pippenish.  ;)

This prospect has big time player written all over him. People will grade him like a finished product this year & next, just like they did with guys like Avery Bradley who came out early.

He'll be crucified the next couple of years by Boston fans, but who cares. This guy is 19. Let the development play out. He's got it all to be great.
