Proof at 1.42.

Nah seriously, seems like a genuinely good person. Verging on captain material. Reallly hope he sticks around and someone else pops out of their skin this year, like KO or Jaylen or Young or Hunter.

He literally said "back up the brinks truck."  Makes me slightly uncomfortable to be paying a slighlty older 5'9 pg a "brinks truck" but i love me some IT4 man.

In fairness to him if he plays like he did last year he will be a max player. But I agree paying max $ to a 5'9" guy is hard to swallow.

If he continues on his current trajectory, he deserves every cent of that Brinks truck money.

Imagine being as good a player as IT is. And standing by making like 6.6 Million this year while Etwan Moore and Timofey Mozgov make 10-15 Million a piece.

Gotta be hard to swallow

You can see him maturing into a leader for the team. I think Horford help him. He's got a great personality which could help bring in some other players down the road.

I don't know why people are scared to pay the man because he's short. As long as he produces and adds to his game going into the later stages of his career to keep on producing. I'm all for it. Dudes earned his pay and then some.

The most he can get is the "max" and looking at other players that have gotten it recently like Chandler Parsons and Mike Conley, both of whom I feel are not as dominant as IT, I would say he deserves it.

Remember, this is the league where Evan Turner makes $17m a season...

A max at age 30? When his biggest strength is his speed (which will decline year after year)?  I love Isaiah but we can't pay him a max then.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

You're going to be seeing a lot of players much worse than IT getting max money over these next couple years.

Which is why we should renegotiate and extend him next offseason.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Listen to the clip. At 1.42 he accidentally says " come to LA, er, sorry, I mean Boston" The interview may have been in LA, but anyway you look at it -- it's an unforgivable freudian slip.

They need to be open to trading all these dudes on good contracts for a legit max guy.  Paying our guys the money thy will want will keep us exactly where we are.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

I think it's more important to trade for or sign a legit max guy by next off-season. We can then go over the salary cap to sign our own players and I don't really care how far into the luxury tax Wyc and the gang have to go in order to keep a championship caliber team together.
